Post subject:  HGI for beginners.
If this question has been answered please show where as i could not find it.

I want try D1 TF so i change " tradingtimeframe " to 1440 but do i also change " Mediumtimeframe " to 1440 or leave at 240

Can i ask if anyone is testing D1 TF with just trend trading plus pending multitrades what sort of max DD are they getting

Medium TF is a setting when trading lower TF's that must be in line with "medium TF".
No use for it at D1, best leave blank.

No idea about DD.

This is possibly going to be an annoying question.

Just tried out HGI 15.06
Even though I've been trained to not use any indicators, for a purely indicator based system, It's looking very very promising.

I'm just not entirely comfortable trading with a black box system though, and having to rely on the good nature of the people who put up the indicator to continue to support it.... so....

How is it calculating the trend arrows, and the wavy line exit signals? For me, these are the best signals the system has to offer (especially when they exist at daily high/lows at session changeovers).
A rummage through the source code would have revealed all, but since we can't do that (for very understandable reasons), is there somewhere I can get an easy explanation of how these entry points are being calculated, and with what indicators? Could I please be pointed in the right direction? A simple (if possible) English explanation?

Seems like there's a lot of info here from nanningbob on various numbered systems, but alas, I am time poor and want the crib notes, or at least a very big arrow!

Please have a look at the chart I am posting. The data on the extreme right appears on all charts for all pairs ... and same data... same numbers..no changes...So what's wrong please... My template has only the HGI v 15.01 and the two MAs.

I'm not great when it comes to indis but it may be that you're missing some sorta script or indicator so you are only getting a copy of text every time you apply your template.

Those are OBJECTS - someone saved them in a Template, so they are STRAY Objects :o

You must DELETE them, show no mercy

Use Ctrl + B, Ctrl + A, click Delete

Now, you can change time frame to refresh the chart & make sure they are gone

If they reappear then you have something running that places them on the chart - can't help you with that :!:

If chart is clean and what you want, be sure to SAVE it as a Template

Used some grey matter and figured that bit out. Thanks for the reply , anyways.

Now using the v 15.06... i get yellow wavey lines and blue wavey lines .. Wavey lines is warning. Have read the manual... but whats with the blue wavey. Saw that NB had also posted a chart of the EU h1 on main thread where these two colours are there... Please advise..

the yellow ones are a range start, the blue ones a range end....
