have u been using the v1.02 with recent strength since start of the week?

i been using that one but without recent strength but this week it really got caught in the whipsaws cos the price was going no where for all pairs after the heavy trending during christmas n new year...weird... my demos from b4 christmas to 1st week of the year could have made 10,000pips or more, but this week has been brutal without the profit lock.

so has your demo with recent strength done well this week?

thinking of trying the trend filter cos that would reduce the whipsaw losers.

Hello Joe,

Unfortunately, or not, I had just resurrected Multi Pair Swing Trader on my Empty4 platform after adding RecentStrength.csv yesterday. I ran it last night, but had forgotten to set ECNIsCrim correctly.

Have no experience on how this EA faired over the holidays. Sorry!

Hi Joe,

It held its own, but took a few hits, I have turned on the switch to only take the trade on a closed bar, I'll see how that goes, but the good thing is, it is still holding 9% profit, so lets see how this one goes.

We have to accept the EA is going to take hits, the thing is to minimize the losses, I am also testing a version with the stop behind the previous bar and not the last swing

wow....this sounds good. great idea! i think this will work..will reduce the losses during whipsaws.

What is the purpose of line segments on your output screen. These horizontal lines shift up or down periodically. There is a variable number of silver colored lines displayed whenever the EA is attached to a chart. The only one that appears to be constant is the one near the top of the grid display. Note the screen shot of the output screen:

The object list shows 128-135 lines, starting with line00 and increasing sequentiallly through line130.

Is this weird behavior something that you are already aware of , or is it something new?

Those lines mean, price is within 10 pips of a swing.

a question about the adaptive tp on v1.02.
i have been running v1.01b for a few weeks with adapt tp 50 and the whole basket will close when the adapt tp of 50pips is hit, but now i have v1.02 running on my live micro acct on fixfx, it works great but the adapt tp setting dont seem to work. i set it at adapt tp 50 but even when it hits 60, the trades still dont close. i could not use v1.01b on finfx cos of the ecn issues.


any advice for me? thanks.

Hi Joe,

Make sure, extern bool AnotherTM = false; /// Switch to true if you are using another trade manager, this swithches trade management off.

The EA has done well again today.

yes i have adaptive set at 50pips adaptive sl set at 0 with adaptive set to true. other options like basket etc. is set to false.i also have AnotherTM = false; but it doesnt close the baskets.

but somehow the adaptive setting does not work in v1.02, it is also not working in alpari uk live n demo acct.
in v1.01b , i had the same settings and many baskets closed when adapt tp 50 was hit so i know it works in v1.01b.

yeah i see that the ea has done really well indeed, cos we had a very nice breakout that is with the trend after the consolidation, so the one that had the follow trend option turned off did superbly whilst the one with followtrend turned on missed alot of great trades...a pity.

so i guess u are right, we should not be looking to minimize the trades taken by the ea cos i think probably half the trades will turn out to be gems, we shld try to minimize the loss, by using the previous candle as the stop, maybe setting the stop at 10 or 15 pips behind the previous candle. i think this is a very logical way to set the stoplosses. looking forward to trying the version with the tightened stops.
