Hi Gary,

Tried to iron out most of the issues so hopefully this version should be feature rich enough to keep our fellow tinkerers happy and be stable at the same time. There will still be bugs so feel free to either fix the issue and commit directly to bitbucket; or let me know the symptoms for me to have a look.

I know Khalid is mostly running it on H4 and H1; but do feel free to test how it works on M15.

My pleasure :) Since most of the hours I can get to spend in front of this was after putting the kids to bed some (most) were spent literally trying to keep my eyes open. I think I tested it OK and ironed out most bugs, considering...

Also another thing you may like in this version is the Done for the Day module from George. I know you have been using it so can use it directly from inside the EA now.

Hi Mahmut,

What a nice way of making a return after the overhaul and M.O.T. ! The bot is making a dream start and has already made two winners, EURAUD long for 25 pips and NZDUSD short for 8 pips. I have always had good vibes about this EA.

I haven't had time to check the settings for Donefortheday module yet, so continues to use the EA separately for the time being.

Now that you have completed this project, you will have time to catch up on your sleep !

After 12+ hours my M15 test has closed 10 trades for a net loss of -9.23 pips. That's about 50 bars, equivalent to 2 months of D1 bars, but of course M15 is going to act differently than D1. Not a very inspiring start but it's early days yet. M15 may not be a good match for the system, or maybe it's just marking time while it waits for a good solid move.

I'm currently running on EU, GU, and UF. Any reason not to turn it loose on 21 or 28 pairs?

Guys, this does not look promising. This beastie is burning money at an impressive rate. :D

In 11 hours it's taken almost 100 trades with only 18% wins, and it's lost almost $400 (trading 0.1 lots). The equity curve is almost a straight line, but unfortunately pointing in the wrong direction...

It has a nice trade in EURAUD, which has trended down slowly for the last 10 hours. Some other pairs (e.g. EURNZD, EURUSD) have been in nice 90-pip moves, but they started before I started the EA so apparently the EA didn't see an entry point.

On the other hand GBPAUD has had a nice 75-pip down move, and the EA took 4 trades and lost about 11 pips.

I'll let it keep running and see where it's at by tomorrow. If it can find some good moves it may still come out ahead. It looks like it takes a fast strong move to keep it in a trade. The question will be whether there are enough moves like that to repair the damage from the other trades.

Have you tried testing it with longer MA lengths? I think it's too "twitchy" and sensitive to bar-by-bar movement. With longer MAs it might be a little less hypersensitive so it could let its trades develop. If this test continues like it has so far, I'll try longer MAs tomorrow.

Yup, definitely wouldn't run this on a live account. :D After about 20 hours it's $750 in the hole.

Hey, if it can get me 400 pips a day, I don't mind giving half to the trading gods. :)

Can't get DumpHistory to work for some reason. Other scripts work fine. I compiled it both in MQL editor and letting Empty4 compile it -- neither works. Weird.

In 24 hours it lost almost $1000, win% running around 20%.

OK, starting over on 28 pairs, M15, with StrategyExit = false and StopLoss = 38 (the default value). Current demo account balance is $22903.80.

OK. 38 pips is more aimed at H4 or D1? What's a good ATR multiplier? I don't have a feel for this thing's normal behavior so I need a hint for how to set it up.

38 pips is about 0.25*ATR for AU, EU, GU, about 0.5*ATR for UC and UJ. Should I set the stop at about 1/2 - 1/3 * ATR? (Should the EA calculate ATR and you just give it an ATR multiplier, so it scales properly for each pair / TF?)

M15 ATRs run in the 5-10 pip range. I assume 3-5 pips is too small!!

Average loss on the trades since yesterday was -$9.30. FYI here's a trade-size distribution:

Only 5.7% of the trades lost more than 21 pips, but of course more than that would have hit a 21 pip stop. I don't know how many.
