Definitely will be doing that for you with the videos. Right now I am testing the 5 min and 15 min 10.7 indicators with mods of the setting. As soon as I think they are ready I will probably start with them. Thanks for Participating Doug |

Hi Doug, Thanks for sharing this great system. I seem to be missing some of the Golden rod coloured ribbons from some of the charts you post, however I’m not sure if you are currently testing some other templates. Could you confirm for me if I have setup the charts correctly? First pic EURJPY 1h with the gannbob final candles V2 template applied Second pic same chart with the scale adjusted to see the other ribbons. Does everything appear to be displaying correctly? Sorry for the newb question! |

Looks like my chart. Happy you are participating. If you run into any problems let me know. The system is getting fine tuned on the 15 min and 5 min so I will make some changes to the docs on how best to trade these eventually after I test the indicators. The higher time periods follow the order of the second video. I might need to make some changes to the 30 min too.Adding the 15 min indicator would probably be the change if I made any. Cheers, Doug |

Greetings, The US Stock Market went to an all time high today 16580 and to think in 2008 we hit rock bottom. Should bode well for the Asian session. Of course Friday is NFP. Who knows. Cheers, Doug |

Greetings, I will be taking a little break for the next four days. My first love is horse racing and the Kentucky Oaks is on Friday and the Derby on Saturday. Have not done any handicapping in a while so it should be fun. So I will be doing a little capping and eating Fried Chicken from the local lions club. Really good fried chicken. They sell it 24 hours a day all week end until it run out. Keeps the volunteer fireman and paramedics properly equipped. Great service organization. I will look in on the forum to answer questions if any but my eyes will be focused somewhere besides this computer for a few days. I have to remember every once in while that they call this state I am in retirement. Have a great weekend, Cheers Doug |

Hi Doug, Both threads are v. interesting on the gann ribbon. A quick question, can you confirm the latest candle templates for 5m scalping & 4h trading? Is it; for 5m-15m; ! gannbob_final_candle_Scalp.tpl and for 15m-4h; ! gannbob_final_candles_v2.tpl (so ignore ! gannbob_5_candles_scalp.tpl) and there isn't a single template that covers 5m-4h ? If I have the correct template, one last query over ribbon colours & orders. I have made a note of; Ribbon order: Grey(primary), Blue, Green, Brown, DarkGoldenrod but when using ! gannbob_final_candles_v2.tpl on 4h (see screenshots) I have grey(4h?), blue(daily?), no green(weekly?), but also an uncoloured ribbon(9,14?) and a dotted ribbon (1512,2268?) - can you explain that please. If I flip to H1 I get the grey(h1),blue(h4),green(daily) and the uncoloured&dotted again - what do they represent? Great work & thanks for sharing... Padnoter |

The Gannbob final salp or HA whatever you prefer came first. It is a 5 minute separate template and a second template for 15 minute through the daily. The Daily is for 10.9 trading on the daily. I just put it on there as a convenience. It is just one indicator at the bottom. Than I started the second thread on scalping 15 min and below and needed a template that covered the 5 min and 15 min. It came second and is still under development. I am individualizing the setting for intraday trading. So your 2:1 say on the 15 minute becomes the 1440 min and 240 min. The 5 min becomes the 240 and 60. It is not ready yet for release but soon. Still thinking about this and testing it. So the bundle in the scalping thread right now has essentially the same time period adjustments as in the gannbob bundle final. So just use the gannbob bundle for now. So you have the 15 min through the Daily covered. Use the 5 minute if you want to try the 5 minute but the 15 minute is ideal because it has the 5 minute shadow ribbon on it and you can see all the ribbons all the way up to the weekly. However price movement will be faster on the 5 minute. 3 times faster and more noise. Thinking about time is something traders are not use too thus the gann ribbons will help fill that gap. On your chart the lines are going to the weekly (screen door effect ribbon with dots for a fill and a yellow edge) and the shadow ribbon (Clear Fill). This is on GBPNZD presently. If you go to GBPUSD at the moment (May 1 2014) you will see a perfectly ordered pair arrangement. All traders agree on direction. This has put GBPUSD at the top of the Daily CSS where it is now. This is something on my to do list, how ordered pairing effects CSS that is after I do the next 15 things on my list ahead of it Ok let us start from the bottom on the 5 minute. The Gray is always the primary but on the 5 min it is a 5 min ribbon and on the 15 min it is a 15 min ribbon and so forth. You count up from gray primary. If it is the 15 min the next Navy color is 30 min. Dark Green 60 min. Just look at your periodicity selector on the tool bar starting where you are and look right. The shadow ribbon would be just one to the left. Down a time frame. Some of the shadow ribbons are perfect to number nine math theory and couple I had to round because the t3ma can not take a decimal like 13.5 but they are close. All regular ribbons are perfect. It is hard to go backwards because the system is a bottom up system. I can go only one period backwards by division. It is all about time. Each period is scaled upward. The reason I can scale to any time period from the one minute up is number nine math theory. Look at the docs for a discussion of that topic. As examples of systems that are top down look at any of Bobs 10.x systems. So 5 min first example should explain its self. We will cover all the ribbons. The Daily on the 5 minute. There is no weekly on the 5 minute. The next time frame up is the 15 minute. Just showing you the daily which is up one from the weekly now on the 15 minute. Shadow ribbons Why can I not put all the time periods on one template? Well if you look at the indicator list you can guess. This is an extremely complex template with lots of calculations occurring for some very very large averages. All the ribbons are done with math. There is no other way to do this. What you see on a time period is controlled by the visualization settings. So ribbons come on and are removed for each time period. So there is a separate ribbon indicator for all but the gray one which is the same on all time periods. Empty4 struggles when I put to many indicators on a template and if you do not have 8 gigs of memory or have the buggy 625 release unexpected things can happen. Thanks for the questions. This needed further clarification and there will be a rewrite of all the Docs once the 5 and 15 min time periods are done. The 30 minute time period may undergo some changes with changes in the 10.7 indicator also. I am not sure how the templates will be released but I always try to give you as much choice as possible. 5 min through 30 minute would be the true intraday periods in my mind. 60 minutes and above the larger trading periods. I keep thinking of new things I might do but the list has to go in proper order. Thanks for Participating, It helps everyone including me ... Doug |

This would be a good time to post how I got from point A to presently point B lets say. First came the ribbons. The initial indicators were the Volume and the pair CSS indicator. The CSS as much as I like it is not practical as a timing indicator. It only worked well on the four hour which was impractical for intraday trading. So next was a substitute of the stochastic. This all would make for a nice system for intraday trading. However I wanted a system that covered all the time periods well. So my initial system was released on March 23 2014. Than I changed to a stochastic. Bob than starting his thread on April 4 2014 but I did not notice it until about a week later. I than realized if I incorporated 10.7 into the Gann Ribbons I would have all the bases covered. So I worked up the indicators and templates again adding the 10.7 indicator turn on as a counter trend indicator. Soon I realized I would need to adjust the lower time periods on the indicator to tame to a reasonable amount the numerous alerts. It is a very sensitive indicator and lower time periods will cause a lot more alerts. I also realized that trend was far different intraday than Daily. It took me a while to understand how the indicator worked and read Bobs threads. So I was combining two systems which was how 10.7 was designed to work but I needed to understand what it all meant. Now I am at the stage where I am working with the internal code settings to adjust them for the lower time periods. I have done a lot with it so far and you can see the setting in the code snippets in the 10.7/10.9 indicator thread. So when the GannBundle_1 came out I took all the old indicators and templates and made a bundle called old stuff. None of this is under development anymore but you will see in the thread charts that have the appearance of these templates simply because of the evolution of the system. Anything I said about volume or the ribbons in the early part of this thread still applies. The first video was before the 10.7 integration and second video about it. A third video will be needed to fully explain GannBob_final V3 when it is released. It will explain how to better trade the lower time periods with the system. I hope at the same time to have a rewritten manual. So this is going to be some time consuming activity. However the manual can than be presented in video form. It helps me to do this kind of activity because than I think of new things to do next. It might take more than one video. That can not be made until I am done fine tuning the indicators for the lower time periods. So in a nutshell that is where I am at presently. In the back of my mind though is the Gann Ribbons. How they relate to CSS. Very interesting. What does ribbon edge direction tell us. Well in the example in the previous post a lot. Can we predict a break out direction in a consolidation by the location of the white or yellow edge, up or down. How many and what time periods would give this a way. Maybe an ordered pair arrangement. I am sure there are more things to think about. The system being visual lends itself to observation and what if thinking. Happy Trading, Doug |

Thanks for the quick reply Doug. :hi: Enjoy the racing break (that'll give me time to read this thread properly - I started with the download docs and got hooked on those!) Cheers. |
