I am starting to really like this bot.
I put him on my live trading account on Monday, GJ, 0.01 lots. The point is to test him out without taking any risks with the account. He has added 1479 painless pips so far this week, and a gain of $100.
I think RnR is the perfect bot for following Bob's principle of little-and-often. Lots and lots of tiny pip trades add up to a lot of pips. It is an expensive way to trade, but if the equity is going up then I don't care. Global Prime are welcome to my commissions, just for existing and allowing me to trade with an honest broker.
Here is what I am starting to think:
- we need $2,000 balance to trade 0.01 lots per pair safely. This gives a default emergency partial close of $400. Even a leaky toilet takes a while to get there.
- Imagine a $10,000 account. Given that leaky toilet markets occur, we are better off trading 5 pairs at 0.01 lots than 1 pair at 0.05 lots.
Mine is a $10,500 account. Not vast, but about $10,000 vaster than it was this time last year. I do not know which will be the best 5 pairs to transfer to, so I shall start with the four biggies + GJ.
These might not be the ideal pairs. It strikes me that RnR will perform best when the market is ranging reasonably tightly. Bruster's fantastic contributions ensure that holes in the grid left by trade closures are filled in, so the less often the market takes off, say, north, leaving our 15 sells isolated and looking ashamed of themselves, the better. Maybe we need those with a low daily ADR?
We shall see. Early days.

The error messages occur when the EA tries to close a position which does not exist. What happens was I run the live account in a VPS and at the same time run a copy of the EA (with Stop Trading set to true) on my home PC so that it is easier for me to see the EA info.
