Steve has weighed in his inimitable style and pointed out that we ought to be following what Bob does - and I agree. However, I take this to be his method - which has shown to be sound by a number of traders now, rather than his broker, which to me seems to be a minor part of the package. I happen to trust Bob's creativity, trading nous, and testing approach, which is why I am interested in his trading methods. But following Bob's method does not mean embracing Cowboy IBFX. As a crim, Cowboy IBFX has one of the oddest price feeds out there, and this does affect the pivot levels you'll trade against and the TMA slope values you have. I believe Bob's method holds up well enough regardless of the DISADVANTAGE of using Cowboy IBFX. Which is not to say it isn't worth getting the indicators right for other brokers and more sane price feeds.

So, for the record, and slightly off topic, I'll eventually be porting 10.2A to Dukascopy using JForex (java) rather than Empty4. Dukas is my preferred broker - ECN, low spreads, good service, track record of treating my account well. I have built an automated strategy framework and several successful automated strategies up over time in Java and JForex, and I plan to leverage this hard work rather than grapple with the reliability issues of Empty4 and Empty4 brokers. Dukascopy has the option to receive the price feed with sunday candles or not, and I have previously coded pivots that have adjustable GMT close, so any change in profitability around settings can be settled by historical backtesting among those options. When I get to that point, I'll post up results.

Hi, just came across bobs system for the first time, I've downloaded some of the zip files from this forum but still feel confused as to what I'm supposed to read first. I've read 10.2 read first which gives an overview of various things, Ive read bits and pieces but still find myself confused as to where to start . I've looked on ff also and found other booklets, and with so many versions my head is spinning!. Any guidance would be great

Thanks Steve for pointing out this thread. It looks great and more importantly makes sense.
I am starting to trade it manually daily time frame with a micro account (that won"t cause too much damage LOL ) If it works as well as it seems I will be very very happy.
Entering trade on new candle and using support for initial stop and moving to break even as soon as price moves up

after spending some time on 10.2 I am now trading 10.2a (micro ) and I am very impresed with it so far will let you know how it pans out as you said it more clearly defines the trend.

i have some noob questions even though i've been around a while - just slow in understanding i guess.

first, how do i keep track of the blogs i have read to a point where i'd like to get back to later. is there some way to bookmark and return later? with so many strings of interest (and i am just following nb mostly) i keep losing where they are and how far i have gone in them, and have been copying the address of each for use later - and cannot believe that is the best way.

second, with so many systems and indicators and techniques and versions, is it possible to get a list of useable routines to load, (or dated update of the zipped package) to copy what someone successful is using? i have downloaded and run dozens of routines and indis, and still do not have one running profitably - and now do not know what i need and what is potential enhancement or discard-able. i thought i would have sorted it out by now, but you guys are so prolific i cannot keep up - i really appreciate and thank you all for that, but it is frustrating to be old and slow. i admire you all.

I always use the "View Unread Posts" view, which shows me threads I haven't read yet:

Also, when there is content you haven't read in a particular thread, you can click on the little image circled here. That will take you to the "next message I haven't read." This forum is very good about tracking "what have I read" on a thread-by-thread basis. I think it will work best if you finish one page before leaving -- I doubt it's smart enough to know how far down the page you scrolled. It just assumes you read everything on that page. But if you read one page and exit, it WILL take you back to the next page you haven't read yet.

But just wanted to note that it actually is smart enough to know which post you have read to and will take you back to where you were up to when you click View Unread Posts
