I am already testing the system automatically. No need for that. It is a renko Price action idea, but involves other concepts and 3 pairs, but again already testing it.

Because it is back-test, and would involve C++ or java (platforms that allow multi-pairs systems) maybe "Coder" section is best suitable. Still not sure.

I suggest you post your thoughts in one of the two area crazykids suggested. You won't get ripped here. I once posted a new thread, then asked the admin to change the title and move it, and it was done in a short time with no problem at all. Welcome to the team.

Hi Steve and all members,

I live in Rio de Janeio-Brazil. Until recently I was in the tourism area as a travel agent.

Now I am a full-time Forex Trader. Have been using only manual trading systems. I always dreamed learning about automated trading systems.

What a great place to be participating to learn from you and all the other fantastic brains in your forum.

Starting my 2012 journey with a 5 star team in the Automated Trading World.

Steve, I stand in awe of your prolific work and thank you for what you and your faithful followers have taught me about coding over at the FF. Now we have this nice new forum for which I thank you. I know I am going to like this place. Signed up a few weeks ago and it has been just great :D

At last a forum with a purpose plus decorum to boot. What a novel idea! None of that silly stuff we see in other places. I have been a FF and Forex-TSD member since 2005, but never posted anything there and probably never will. When I was in school I was taught that it was best to absorb information until one has a decent grasp of the content before asking questions that might disrupt the flow of the information. Wonder when the schools quit teaching this?

:roll: for someone who has the time and patience, but that certainly is not me. I agree with Steve on this 100%. We don't need page after page of off-topic drivel like we see elsewhere.

Forex has fascinated me for over 50 years making me one of the oldest codgers on this board. I was living in Japan when Nixon took down the Gold Standard. In those days the Yen was pegged at 360:1. The next month it rose to about 260:1. Now look at it. Well below 100:1 at times. Forex demands a great deal of respect that noobs fail to understand.

Today my Forex interest is in automated trading. After self inflicted DD wounds via manual retail trading it became easy to see that a decent automated system would be the way to go. One that makes steady daily gains with minimal DD. Unfortunately, this maybe too close to the Holy Grail as it has eluded me for the last 7++ years since I sat down to learn how to code. I still have a long way to go in that department, but it is fun to learn new tricks.

One interesting Bot I made a few years ago ran on Renko bars and would double the account every 2-1/2 to 5 hours on backtest, depending on the Renko settings. Obviously, this would be the one to run with if it could handle the live market. It can't. That is when I learned how the Empty4 backtester really works. Backtests are very, very optimistic. They are nowhere close to the live market. But more on this at a later time.

Guess I have rambled on too long so will go slather on some of Steve's Anti-Tick Cream that I found also works as a non-toxic suntan lotion. A nice thing in this hot Mexican sun!

I also want to wish everyone here a belated Happy New Year and Good Luck in our mutual quest for viable Bots.

Hehe. My reputation for dealing with people, "In Hopwood style" is presumably well known and now that I am a PCA, any potential dimwits have the sense to stay quiet.

There have been a few dimwits, but as a PCA I can move, "Hopwood style" to a whole new level. :lol: I am not terribly keen on granting second warnings. :lol:

So, enjoy yourself here. The rest of us are. Many of the contributions are mind-blowing.

I am a member since the first hours of this forum, but this is my first post and i think not the last one.
Sorry, i am not a coder. But i hope i write a couple of good things and can help someone.
