The New Beast!

Still ripping along nicely. The first pic is my LIVE account where I added the Simple Beast on 14 December.The second pic is my DEMO account where I started on 8th December. All trades on both accounts were closed on 31 December. Both accounts are Cowboy Go Markets Aust 100:1 $500.00.
Pairs traded are AUDCAD,AUDNZD,AUDUSD,EURAUD,EURCAD,EURGBP,EURUSD,GBPAUD,GBPCAD.GBPUSD,NZDUSD,USDCAD

The only problem I am having is multi level trades do not close automatically on the blue line. I have to close them manually

Again I would like to thank Steve for the work he has put into his EA's and now Ribello for tuning the original Beast to the great stage that it is now.

Again I would like to thank Steve for the work he has put into his EA's and now Ribello for tuning the original Beast to the great stage that it is now.

The Beast in its various incarnations queues up problems for its users unless they are highly self-disciplined and truly understand Recovery. Understanding Recovery also requires you to understand when it is necessary to pull the plug on the position and start again.

If you cannot forsee the possible scenarios that will lead to huge drawdown and how you will deal with it, then I suggest you stop trading the EA immediately and sit on your profits with a self-satisfied sigh. Ribelo has met the difficulties this style of trading presents - reread post 1 for details - so I suggest you take note of what he has to say.

I am the original coder of many incarnations of The Beast. I have failed to make them profitable in the longer term. You might care to consider that only an idiot would ignore my warning. Equally, you might care to read Sam's thread at http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... p=800#p800 for encouragement. Just don't automatically assume you can emulate his success.

Ribelo, g'day! Thanks for all the work you put into creating 'The New Beast'. Everything on this forum is a brand new world to me! In many ways I'm like a kid let loose in a lolly shop - I want to try everything but where do I start first??? After reading through all the posts in this thread I downloaded the mq4 file to check it out.

Having only just learned that, rather than load an indicator/ea into an Empty4 platform by closing and reopening the platform, I could also do the same by compiling it with the editor... I did just that - to see for myself how that worked.

I have just now downloaded the file - and compiled it into my AXIS Empty4 platform 2x (also did it by closing and opening - same result). What I got (see attached) surprised and scared me because I haven't got the first clue what they mean. All I know is that the icon in the Expert Advisors section of my AXIS Empty4 platform is grey - and the programme will not load.

It looks like it can't find the two include files. They should be in the directory underneath the experts directory named "include". Can you verify that directory exists and that it contains those files? I'll attach my versions of them if you don't have them.

Brian and Ray, thank you both very much for the reminder re dlls. On checking...they had been enabled as part of my initial platform installation.

George, diolch yn fawn...thanks very much!! Those files are in all the other platforms on my computer but were missing from the 'Include' directory in the platform I was attempting to install into. The only way I can think that that may have happened is because I did not update that platform during its installation. Regardless! I have since downloaded both of the files you attached into the relevant 'Include' directory; compiled 'The New Beast' and installed it successfully.

Hi Ray, blue line closure is the same for me but I just keep my eye on it and usually just close as soon as possible. A bird in the hand and all that.

Please can you tell me how to save a graph of results like you posted so I can attach it to my posts. It would be great for me to be able to share some results on here.

Ras, go to your trading platform and click on the Account History tab at the bottom. Then right click anywhere in the list of trades and select 'Save as Detailed Report'. Scroll down in this report to find the graph. In preparing the report, you can select a specific date range, although sometimes the system plays tricks and gives you slightly different dates - so check what you get as output.

You can then copy the graph out of the browser window and paste/crop into whatever you like. If you are pasting the figures into Excel for analysis, copy the range you want from the report, then in Excel, right click and Paste Special selecting the Unicode Text option.

I was wondering if you could direct me to a detailed explanation of recovery so I can study and know when it would be good to manually close trades that are not closing properly.
