Call me crazy, but it does not bother me one bit that TG does not trade exactly as the original strategy.
It is making pips, and with MPTM I have less stress than if I were managing open trades myself.
As a basket trader this is a great system. I plan to go live with small lots next week.

I'm going to stick to trying to figure out whats wrong with the EA, with the two extra demos i got going for TG. The original 100% winner is with ava that is unfortunately also a dealer desk criminal (like a bookie) and the other two are ECN. These two buy and sell like yours and really glad to see someone having success with it.
Confirming, you are swtching off the TG EA's on Thursdays and letting MPTM carry on until close on Fridays, then shutting down completely until Tuesday mornings EST, where you start everything up again.?

PS- Steves MPTM must be one of the greatest inventions in forex history.
Use it anywhere and even on manual trades, phenominally helpfull and lets you sleep when its time to sleep, not stay up all night in-case of some sudden trend change. Guess how i know.

You got it.. I manually switch-off the EA tab on my Empty4 platform on Thursday night (3-4 hours before London because many times Friday morning causes counter-trend/change PA).
I then turn-on TG (again manually) Tuesday morning, an hour before NY session.
I actually like to trade Sunday nights, so the hard part is my discipline to only trade Tues-Thurs.
Mondays are too choppy. It took me a long time to realize when not to trade. Now if I can just obey it..

Hey guys, I have always been intrigued by the SuperTrend indicator, but have not stayed with it because of the track record during sideways markets. Like Gary says: (I'm paraphrasing) This will work great during trends and suck during sideways action. But it does catch the trends early, and can stay in for a long time. So what do you guys think about stacking the winners a la some kind of caterpillar input with a basket trailing stop? I was thinking that if we had the EA add a position every x multiples of ATR for example, or every x pips, and trail with an equity kind of stop, we can really add on to the long runs and minimize exposure on the inevitable sideways periods. I attached a pic of a pair that hasn't been trending too much to give you guys an idea what I'm talking about. The green lines would be buys and the red sells of course. At the end of the runs we would be buying/selling above/below the exit, but that is where the basket trailing stop comes in. An option would maybe be to tighten the stop as we get further into profit, or maybe limit the amount of stacking entries. I'm not sure if it will prove to have legs, but I think it might be worth a try, and I think Steve's shell EA has most of the goodies needed to add this to it. Trendy Gary add to winners.png Anders

@Cuz: for the fun of it, decided to try out TG one last time but without the SuperTrend indi (removed it from experts\indicators) And guess what?....(as kinda expected), it now takes only buys (all JPYs currently) and is 100% profitable... (Half-jokingly) Wonder if there's a mod for TG to also only take sells, then we could run the two side-by-side across many pairs... Cheers

Sponn, i will play around with that idea and remove the indi from one of my buy/sell demos and see what happens. I hope it only buys, i'll change the charts if the trends change, swapping between for EG, EURUSD and USDCHF, if thats the case. thanks for the thought, never occurred to me to try that. cuz

Gary, Dudest, all, I have a confession to make and although hard to post this and embarrass my self for the second time, you guys have to know that Dudest is right. If you want the buy only version, remove the indicator. Steve's going to be happy. This also explains why the EA was not following Gary's original method. I never bothered to check the terminal because the EA is always winning, really sorry guys. For now, i'm going to comment out the code snips that order the print on the terminal so the EA does'nt drill the CPU and leave it alone again. The other two Demos i have changed the indi settings on one of them , as well as the EA to read at 10 and 0.5 values. This seems to make the trendline 'tighter' , maybe i should be doing the opposite, but lets see if this has a better effect on trading. These two dont have the error and are reading the indi correctly. Will update fxpage with settings once i see the results are looking better. I'm also going to check on the TF settings. I like the idea of stacking too. Thanks again Dudest, cuz

Me again, sorry guys, cant stop the error from coming up on the terminal, so going to leave as is. cuz EDIT, only way is to remove the indi from the EA so it doesnt call it, but the demo is still winning and dont want to attempt anything, like Steve says, its winning so why mess with it. Ill tinker with the other two demos.
