We probably should ask Jem about it. He should know. But I spoke the other day with Kevin from fxpig and he said that if you have got let say

1. gbp/chf short with 100 pips TP - your trade would be closed not at 2000-4000 pips gain but on 100 pips TP
2. gbp/chf long with 100 pips SL - your trade would be closed after gap with 2000-4000 pips lose

How it is possible... don;t ask me. Ask brokers.

Just to share:
I had 3 chf positions on live account 0.05 lots each during the drama move:
short audchf with TP 200 pips, cadchf no TP set
long eurchf.

I could not close any CHF posisitions during the drop, but after 45/60 minutes I was filled for audchf for maximum pips, cadchf i could close also for maximum gain and eurchf i closed for max loss.
After all I had a small profit...
Broker Forex.com. I was able to chat with them during the time chf was frozen.
I was worried of course: I expected audchf to be filled at 200 pips profit, this was not the case.

Just to add. That time Kevin was talking about normal weekend gaps so maybe it doesn't work this time (situation was much different).

Hi guys,

I have installed and test HGI indi about a week ago.
So far so good because the signal I received from:
i. Big Arrow + Wavy Lines or
ii. Big Arrow only or
iii. Wavy Lines only
iv. RAD for continues trend signal
gave me an advantage to winning the trade, I mean a huge winning pips.
I feel like a dream because I am a newbie that hardly to win 30pips a day before this.

I wish to thank and a big thumbs up to naningbob and his team for their great effort to share their knowledge, skills and experiences to produce the best indi I ever seen before.

I just follow the signal and its rules without any additional support indicators. Then I make a re-entry when I saw RAD(s) appear on the Empty4 windows.....the outcome are very surprising.

I have won more than 20,000pips for this week. (16,000pips won on wed and thu).

I have nothing to share how I made it because I only follow the rules according to HGI pdf guide attached.

May GOD bless you naningbob and team.

AT.

ps: eager waiting for HGI-EA.

But it was something different. SNB change his monetary policy so on most brokers you have got eur/chf 1.20 and next tick was 1.0 so possitions weren't closed on SLs
Thanks for your post Sponn. You mentioned that holding a long position (for my example 1 lot long) on the EURCHF at 1.20 when SNB caused the pair to dive with the next tick a 1.00 (for example). Say they had a SL at 1.15 then their position would not have closed on the SL, but at 1.00 instead, I would assume.

I am curious what would have happened. Would the trade be closed at 1.00 or would it have been impossible to exit the trade possibly blowing the account?

To put my question another way. Some of the SHF traders were long the EURCHF when the announcement came out. Assuming they had a SL in place, were their accounts blown or did their SL close them out of the trade albeit with more than normal slippage?

This may be a painful question to answer for traders who had long positions even if protected by stop loss orders if the stops were not honored at any level. But, knowing that the stop loss orders were hit (even with slippage) would give me some minimal sense of security that stop losses will save my account even under such drastic circumstances.

If you were long EURCHF when the SNB announcement hit, please share your experience with Stop Loss orders.

John
hello john

i was "IN" on 4H TF (Live Account FXCM) with CHF/GBP and EUR/JPY both on SELL , both had savety SL of around 230 pips (i have learned never trade without SL !!!)..... CHF/GBP hit SL (deviation around 5 pips of the 230 pips) and i closed EUR/JPY with 163 pips profit some minutes later, so i can say FXCM was okay for this currencys and closed both currencies correct - this is my experience.

To everyone who pulled me up sort, either in a post here or by pm, re my 'ignorance on fire' post on the HGI in Trend mode.

Thankyou!

The depth of knowledge available through the Forum is incredible! I have learned more about indicators in the past 72 hours than I have in the past 5 years.

Thanks one and all. :good: :good:
Cheers!

Hoping Alapri UK will find the way to do the same. Not the perfect broker for me at all (outraougeous spread and other things i don't like from them...) but decent. Or a t least i like their datafeed haha.
Looking now on GlobalPrime (along with Fxfro and few others).
