pic of a usdjpy trade this morning.
usdjpy 1 4 13.gif

on the above trade i was a little late for the initial rise, so i put a buy stop at the do line w tp at dr1 hoping for a retrace and well it did and i'm in and up 20 pips so far. think i may just let it run for now.

Update - closed the trade for a gain of 40 pips.

fred i had to compile the indis first to see them in my list.
just open meta editor and compile them, check that there are no errors, then close Empty4 and reopen and you should be good to go/

ps just compile the indis and the ea's. Also i discovered that there are two template folders in the Empty4 directory be sure you put the tpl in the second template folder you see it's in the main directory tree not the one in the experts directory.

Now that is how my installation is maybe yours is the same

Hi this is my first post on this site, and I'm excited about the 10.2/10.3 systems created by Bob. One thing that seems really important is making sure the pivot lines and daily open line is synchronised with the forex daily open/close which I believe is NY close 1700 EST. My Empty4 platform/broker is GMT +2, so the lines created by the indicators are not correct. Is there a way to adjust the indicators to allow for GMT differences? Otherwise, I'm stuck with having to draw the lines manually, which I'm not sure will fire the Buy/Sell EAs.

Also because the strategy relies on where price opens in a new day in relation to the pivot point, then in a lot of cases the trade opportunity will already have passed by the time I get to the charts, so is it okay to place a limit buy, limit sell order in case of a retrace?

Any advice would be most appreciated. I plan to start trading next week with this system and will post some charts/trades to see how I get on

Happy New Year

From you observation it Seems that you are a buddy of Disbellj. May be he manages to have your intervention here. Who knows ?
Anyway, Ok Disbellj alias Don is someone here (who was banned since from the forum) who was focusing on synchronizing pivots and he was hardly contributing to focus our attention to these aspects, pointing the different problems that may rise from different Timeservers of the different _brokers ( GMT , EST and Daylight Saving etc.. etc....)
You could find his absolute DailyMonthlyWeekly pivots indicator that seems be perfect and could never be distorted by any _broker's server data feed. I just inform you that some of his indicators are high CPU consuming. Check this Link for the download:

My experience has been there is no such thing as a universal indicator or a universal start and finish time. Forex is 24 hours starting Sundaynight/mondaymorning depending on what part of the world you live in and ending Fridayafternoon/Saturdaymorning. My broker Cowboy IBFX gives me a Sunday candle even though I live and work in China and the market opens up here for me at 6 or 7 am on Monday morning. In other words I get a Sunday candle even though it is Monday here. Every bank and every broker has his own settings. Different platforms have different settings. This causes all Moving Averages around the world to be different because candle start and stop times will be different which cause the candles to be different sizes, which causes the averages to be different, which ................. etc. etc. adnauseum. I have used Dons indi and the only thing is did or me was align the JPY session better for trading. If you have read the book Trading Like the Big Dogs you would know many professional traders reset their pivots with each trading session. That means they use one set for JPY, one set for Euro, one set or USA and one set for AUD/NZD sessions. Don treated me like I never had heard of such a thing before or I was somehow ignorant of the fact. The truth is I knew about this for years but I traded anyway.

If my open is above the daily pivot on my chart and and below on your chart then one of two things happens.

1. One of us gets a trade and the other doesnt.
2. Price will range that day and both of us will get a trade.

I dont wish to get mean guys but get over it.

I also would like to add that if you change the start time of the pivots, you change S&R lines. The daily charts for study are now useless because they dont start the same time as your open on your chart. This also affects the 4H charts and their lines along with the 10.2a reads. You change the pivot, then you have to change the daily open, now your daily charts dont match and your 4H charts wont match. There goes Baluda's indi and color back ground. I mean this can go on and on. The only real difference you will ever get between starting at the JPY session or whatever your particular broker uses is very small unless there is a major move during the aud/nzd sessions which is not that often. So the more you try to develop this the more problems you will find you create. It is not simple and when you are done there is always someone somewhere that wont line up. I wont be changing, I have gone through this before with other trading systems. You dont even have price coordination between the different broker/bank feeds. Just trade with what you have. It is going to work or it is not. I suppose there is a NZ or Aussie dealer that might start their candles then because what you call the USA is their open. Enough of this I got work to do.

Does anyone remember what pages I talked about trade ratios and how the jump EA helped in increasing your trade ratio?

Hi guys,

Hope the new year is going to bring profits for us.
And a special thanks to Nanningbob for his generosity.

I downloaded the last version (Jan 2013) from page 117 of this thread.
Then I downloaded the corrected DWMP.
I had to recompile the DWMP files to get them to show up on chart.
When I did, compiler gave a warning "Function "deleteBullet" is not referenced and will be removed from exp-file "

Mike If I remember well Disbelj arguments, GMT+2/3 (DST dependent) already is the ideal crim timeframe!, that is why some if not most Aussie br0kers use it, and also why UK CRIMINAL Alpari (of USSR origin) 6 months ago, moved from it´s original GMT, out of clients request (so they claim) :geek:

IMO US brokers shackled traders are a different story (more so now PFG best sunk  ) but perhaps I've got it wrong all together :?:

Thanks Kevin, Bob and Steve for your replies. I'm new (4 months) to Forex and just want to make sure my platform is okay for this strategy which you have all reassured me it's fine. Have a great weekend and a better week ahead.
