Didn't post on this board from a really long time, my bad, but I wanted to let you know I am trading live your baby on EURUSD.
I've noticed from time to time its open 2 trades at once or at very short time interval. Usually I added a 30 points trailing from Empty4 or killed it manually on one of the trades.
I think I still have 0.36 version so I wonder if this was fixed or you are aware of this bug.
Hi JB

it's never a good thing to stay with an old version !

could you publish your result please ?

Good to know you're trading live

cheers

The good news is I didn't see much difference between demo and real, I am with Cowboy Go Markets trading 0.01 on an 1k account. So far it closed about 5 trades and made me about $40 and have a small dd on an open trade.

As for keeping with an older version in production unless there is a known major bug it might be me being old fashion or is just a working habit being a software developer working in application support.

If I get some time I might look myself at the code. I am just curious if somebody else saw this behavior or is just me. It could be platform related cause I run Empty4 from linux.

Yes I confirm. When long trend is forming, it's the ONLY way to pay losses and store gains. I have added an "added trades module" with fixed TP, same entry signals to better fit range period. Live test are in progress and we will add it to Marilyn in future.

I hope we also add an short term strategy which I'm developing based on Michal idea : see Monday Zone Breakout Post.

cheers

Hey Phil,

ranging zone detection will be a must. When using trend following EAs you always want to cut the ranging zones out. However, I don't know of an EA that would do that successfully. If the EA manages to avoid most of the ranging market, it usually is less profitable because misses part of the subsequent trend move. There are plenty of ranging market detection modules out there. Don't really know which one would work best with MM but I have the feeling that you already have an idea……

Cheers,

Hi Guys,

As I promised I did set up 2 new accounts with the absolute latest version 40c.

One account with Global Prime and one with IC Markets.

Both runs with the TP settings on with 15 pip profit closure per trade.
Also both accounts closes all trades at a full equity gains of $60 for the GP account and with $50 for the IC Markets account.

IC Markets: I will have to fix this one as well. I will add the link once it is done.

New link added:

http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Nubika/ ... 2G2O2KzTbK

Global Prime: (guys use this new link to the account. For some reason the old one did not update automatically)

http://www.myfxbook.com/members/Nubika/ ... 7nyOYsfuhc

In my opinion the 2 most important issues had been addresses in this version:

1. Take profit option for each individual pairs and trades

2. And the possibility to disable the function called : UseCloseOn3MACD. (this was in "my opinion only", the reason the accounts were loosing sometimes because the trades were closed out with a quite large loss. In my opinion it is better to run all trades as long as they either close out with the TP function or by the Global closure function. Either way sooner or later you always end up with an equity growth. Even if some trades go against you.) Sometimes it might take a bit longer but during the years of trading I found this option the best. An EA like MM which has so accurate entry points is ideal for this type of trading.)

In my opinion, you just add / remove the 2 most important modules of Marilyn :)

Fixed TP could win on short term...but what after ? please refer to my benchmark 2009-2013
UseCloseOn3MACD in the virtual SL that allow Marilyn to change its mind, and catch a trend.

cheers

Nice one Frank,

Could you please post your set files?

Thanks,
TT
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

TT,

This is the set file I use on the latest 40c version.

However I try to use almost identical ones on the earlier versions as well.

My first 2 accounts with 36b are still doing very well, but those needs to be cared all the time.

40c is good for me because don't have to add the TP manually to the trades. and the large closures with the losses are not happening as well.

I use all available pairs on both brokers. but not metals. Only currencies.
Also use GEC controller from FXAW to close trades at set equity rises.

Philippe,

I do understand what you are saying believe me. Of course you are right with your statement if we have trends. Look at the charts in the last 3 - 4 months. There are no real trends at all only ranging market.
Current market situation will close out too many trades with losses and you will have no capital left on the end.
This is why I use a larger initial capital with small lots and small TP targets. This way we do build balance and equity slowly but surely. Then when we are happy with the gains, just close the shop and start fresh.

Hi Frank, unfortunately the GEC-Controller link at FXAW is damaged, can you forward the EA. Thanks Mike
