I have decided to take a slightly different approach.
I have altered TMACG vd by:
Turning off stacking
Enter trades at the outer band within 10 pips (not 20)
TP always at the MiddleBand.
Slope <0.2 (might have to relax this a bit)
Have reset stop to 20 after reading your last few posts
Visual evidence suggests these will have high % of winners but pips not that huge – probably less than 25. But with stop now at 20 that should be OK
Will report back towards end of the week.
Keep up the great work.
Allan
Goodstuff Allan! Let us know how it goes :)

Cheers!

PS: the 20 pips was a buffer for TP, not for entry. I'm considering lowering this to 10 pips also, but first want C_beta and D to run for this week before concluding

Yep - my mistake - taking trades at Outer Bands with Bid and Ask as per normal. TP buffer at 10.
See how we go!!

I'm testing the no stacking version.
On several currencies a second trade was opened some minutes later after the first one but at about the same price in the same direction. Did I misunderstand something or is this the way it is supposed to be?
Thanks
Peter
Hey Peter, when you say "on several currencies", what currencies are you running it on? It's designed for Gold

Please post a chart + trade history screenshot to enable me better understand.

Cheers
I know that it's designed for Gold but I think it should work for all currencies too.
The system is always the same.
What I meant was i.e. one trade was opened in cad/chf at 0.83064 and five minutes later another trade was opened in the same currency at 0.83061.

Maybe I should have said it this way: TMACG is *hard-coded* for Gold

If you want to use with a 4-digit pair, at the very minimum you need to change the PFactor (see below)

from:

Code: Select all

double PFactor = 10;
to:

Code: Select all

double PFactor = 10000;
That said, I need more info to *understand* how that happened; simply telling me the prices won't do; the trades have comments, the pair has a chart, etc. You gotta gimme more in order to help you

PS: it's not hard to create a generic 4-digit version, not too much customization needed from current version

I can do it at the end of the week after the tests [ don't want to make one and keep changing it ]. I'm sure the guys with the coding skills here could know what to change and do it in minutes, and voila, 4-digit pair TMACG.

That said, I have tested a couple of pairs, and was not too satisfied with results. Of course I'd love to have a pair that can complement Gold! (after all, I'm here to make money, the more that work the merrier). I just haven't had the time to test 30+ pairs offered by my broker *in-depth* as I have with Gold.

And I'll have you know that for Gold, a 40-pip swing is slim pickings ( I'm not being arrogant, that's just a fact; daily volatility has been down since we got to the 1200.0 swing low ). Check your charts in 2012 and first 7/8 months of 2013, even 2011. At some point I had to test with a JumpingStop of 75 pips to keep up!

This slim ranging won't go on forever, and even then, it's still providing opportunities. I take what it gives, and I will be ready and waiting when it goes back to its explosive ways....

Cheers

Thanks for your answer, dudest,
it's my fault. I thought that it was possible to implement the EA as it is to currencies.
Anyhow, I copied and attached the chart.
Thanks a lot
Peter

You're welcome Pete.

Did you by any chance put the EA on your charts more than once?

[ If no, please send me the log in "Experts" tab ]
