Enjoy the racing break (that'll give me time to read this thread properly - I started with the download docs and got hooked on those!)
Cheers.

Well you sure put them to good use Padnoter.

Folks Padnoter has built us one amazing new indicator called the T3MA_ribbon_multi. It is one very elegant bit of code. Now just seven indicators will do the job of the multitude I was using. I will have new templates out next week built with the new indicator. From the input setting to the internal code it is one well thought out indicator. Very impressive padnoter. Thank You again.

Cheers,

Hey Doug,

Still following along here!!

Have you ever observed that the ribbons can produce a rubber band like effect - as if they are the mean?

What I'm getting at is, is it true to say that the further away from the ribbon that price gets, the more overextended it is on that particular timeframe? And the more likely it is to revert back to the ribbon?

Only talking about extremes here, of course. How to measure what constitutes an extreme, I don't know.

And my observations are purely anecdotal and not backed up by any testing!!

Maybe one of our more intelligent members will be able to assist!?

Cheers!!

Oh!! And did anyone notice where EURUSD reversed today after NFP?

Huge drop down and then it reversed almost to the PIP off the top of the D1 ribbon.............

Yes I have observed that before.
Yes there will be a lot of observation and you will find that they are made possible by the mathematics. An edge of a ribbon can stop price in its tracks. There is real mathematical theory making this all work. That is what is really cool about it. Like the GBP being at the top of the CSS and at the same time the ribbons are completely in order top 'to bottom on the GBPUSD illustration a few post back when I answered Padnoters questions. The visual nature of the ribbons makes them easy to play at "What if thinking". There has never been a visual trading system like this before and adding Bobs 10.7 Iced the cake. I was not the first to do the ribbons because they had been done in a 1 minute scalping thread. However I have never seen them set up like my charts before. Just as Bob had never see a stochastic that was used the way his 2:1 stochastic indicators are used. I would not have been able to get this far though with out that thread back in 2007 by Rad on TSD. So we all barrow from others ideas. I will however take full responsibility for the shadow ribbons which are really cool. Having that one on the 5 minute will add great insights to scalping that time period. You could probably just use the crosses on the 1 minute shadow ribbon as entries and exits. Turns in the market will show up very rapidly when price moves accross that ribbon. So will retraces. I was amazed at how much information Padnoter took in and how fast he worked up that indicator. I read all of that code and it is very clean and elegant. It is like he read my mind or something. I am still amazed.

Thanks for Participating,
There is a lot to learn and we have just begun.

Cheers,

Greetings,
So it did not start out that way but when 10.7 came a long I fully integrated it into the Gann Ribbons. So I changed the title to reflect this. This thread may be moving to Bobs section. I will ask Bob if that is ok and than if that is ok Tommaso can move us.
Cheers, :)

Post subject:  Gann Ribbon 10.7 System

Greeting,

I have posted a new bundle and a template bundle in post 1 of the thread. The only change is a 0.54 volume on the fast white edge. It had been 0.59. It will make some subtle improvements and now the whole system is number nine math theory consistent. You will only need to download the templatesV3.1.zip if you already downloaded 3.0. If you have not downloaded it you just need the GannBobFinal_v3.1 bundle.

At any time if you notice that an indicator is missing from a bundle please let me know in the thread and I will correct it immediately.

Also if you still find that you are getting a big CPU hit or large memory utilization you can go as low as 75 or 100 on the bars in the new indicator and still have the ribbons you need to see. It is easy to change in the new indicator. Just seven to change in the template. It is the amount of bars that is usually the culprit. With the new indicator I am finding on my Intel I5 2010 Del laptop with 8 gig of ram that the system is rock solid. Padnoter made a change before I published the new indicator to reduce some of the CPU utilization.

See my next post for an announcement.
