I was a little shocked to see it go short as I was expecting it to go long with green candle but at same time I was happy it did go short xmess7 may be around soon and may be able to explain the reason acs |

I just closed the short I was in because the Average Daily Range is close enough for me and it's getting close to London close, I think the EA TP was a little ambitious and have my doubts it will reach it today . |

I just did a back test of to days trade with EA v261 and sure enough in test it took a long from the green candle and got stopped out but as you seen from my picture this am it took a short, how strange is that  acs |

Well well, seems like the EA has it's own little criteria for picking directions LOL.... @acs, thnx for the pics, they help to see what is happening. Question, are u using TradeInOpenBarOffset = 1? Based on the chart seems like u are using 1. So, my initial inclination is that the EA is considering the LondonOpen (which is 10 on your broker) as the bar to close any open trades and then determines direction as the body of the 11 hr bar IS forming. The key work is "IS". That would be why on some of the charts I see a buy was taken when in fact that bar closed down. Due to the timing the EA is looking at the bar as it develops to determine the trade direction. I downloaded ver 261 and I see what we need to do. zhen did a great job to simplify the TradeInOpenBarOffset condition but, the same thing happened to me. The selection of when the end and start of the TradeInOpenBarOffset is causing the stuff u guys are seeing. This can be remedied but before I continue let me know if the following is the intent of the original rules: -Close trade at the beginning (or open) of the TradeInOpenBarOffset candle -Open new trade at end of TradeInOpenBarOffset Candle (or open of next candle). Just need to make sure I have the rules correct before making the adjustment. @pipemenow Good catch. This one will take a little more thinking. I reviewed the section in the EA where the LOTinBroker is calculated and it seems that the EA is determining the times in terms of GMT. The only numbers added or subtracted are GMToffsets. In no case do I see a consideration for a LondonOffset. At first I thought that this was taken care of with the variable LondonGMTOffset but it doesn't seem to be the case. Tonite when I get a chance I will look into this to make sure that numbers are adding up. Peace.. |

Good Morning all I will be posting todays picture of short trade taken by EA a little later, I just want it to show a few bars of the trade before posting. thanks for your reply xmess777 and also your time, I know how valuable time can be, as for my reply I would also like to do that a little later in the day also I just want to clarify my position here because I feel like I'm left holding the baby as it were  As you should all know I'm new to this forum and also new to this thread I got involved purely to help with some back testing/forward testing of the EA and show any results here but there seems to be a lack of commitment from other members here with exception of one or 2. I trade manually myself, you could say I'm a scalper but I do many other types of trading, anyway moving on I'm sure many of you are aware of the other threads in FF (see post 1 and 2 of this thread), I have read through a lot of it and it is confusing as to who's method we should be working towards as there are 3 people who have input ideas as to how the method/system should be applied, perhaps zhengzuodong is the person who should be answering these types of questions as he is the person who started this thread. Are we still working to his plan as stated in post 2 ? ........................... From post 2 ...........................

ok here is the trade for today I'm still using the settings for London open with candle 1 despite the little glitch yesterday, I'm hoping exmess777 can shed some light on this as I don't understand why in forward testing it took the trade the wrong way but in back test it took it the right way as in per rules within EA v261 |

ok let me see if I can wet your appetite a little I have done many tests with this EA but here in the forum I stuck to doing London open, I did so for a reason that I'm not going to go into at moment but anyway the test I'm going to show you is one I just did and is one of many I have done that shows this EA can make you money if applied in the right way. having a EA is not the holy grail we all know that but by applying it at the right time can yield benefits. people think you should be able to just set a EA going and let it do it's job but as you all know the market works against humans and EA's, as humans we can't sit in front of our computer day after day looking for the right trade, it becomes really hard work and so by combining our knowledge of the market and a EA we can get a edge on the market knowing market structure and applying the EA at the right time will reward you, don't run your EA 24/7, be selective, turn it on when you know or think you know it will reward you ok I may not have put this in the best way but just for quickness because I could type pages and pages of how this can work so I hope it's enough to fire up some imagination from you guys. oh yeah just before I post pictures, I know the money side of things in this test may not suit all of you in terms of equity and so on but it can be scaled to your own budget this is for 5 days of trading including this am. see what you think ............ |

Hi ACS. Good job... Do you keep your SL per the EA settings ATR method or you set it manually and how? How about TP in case it is not closed the next day? |

SL and TP can be set for market conditions if neither are hit it will close the trade in profit or loss after 23 hours before taking on the next trade |
