Check the first picture to see the highlited fields. Shouldn't it be 0 ? In the second picture you can take a look at Rad trades. There is no problem with them. If you see closely you will notice that the first RAD trade is a trade with no TP. This is what is am asking regarding Wave trades. It seems that the first wave trade comes with a TP and I believe it should be with no TP. Matt |

I was wondering why the EA is missing a lot of alert signal coming from the HGI. I am experimenting on M15 and there were trends arrow signals that didn't triggered a trade. Haggadah, |

There will be, and you will have learned a bit about how all this works when you have worked out why. Some kindly soul here might explain, bit it is explained about 50 times a day in the HGI thread, so they might not bother. Dunno. |

Haggadah, What entry did you put in the "tradingtimeframe" in the EA properties? |

Hey there fellas! Like some of you who have been running tests this week I've been scratching my head around the idea of basket closure. What I'd like to test is having individual pairs close at, say, 2% profit and the whole basket close at 5% (for a start, though I've seen 8 I get I can easily use newborn Basket Manager to handle the 5% total closure, but i'm stumped on the partial instrument close. If I understand correctly, The PercentOfBalance setting of HGB closes all of the orders as well, and stops trading for the day. Now I'd be ok with stopping activity for the day on a pair which would have yielded 2%, but I don't think it can be done that way. My ears are emitting smoke now, but I think I can either:

Hmmmm. What, pray, do you imagine HGBBM's MagicNumber input is for? The same MagicNumber input that has been a part of all my EA's since the dawn of time? Decoration? Causing confusion? Or could it be so that you can be flexible with magic numbers? Hmmmmmmmmm. I wonder........ Teasing apart, I am settling in to do some work on adding MTF considerations to HGB, but I will start with adding Mikes code that allows us to treat each pair as a basket. I imagine you are not the only one thinking along these lines, so hang on for the next update before you torture you brain any more. |

Haha, pretty nice answer Steve! Thank you for taking the time (my heart skipped a beat or two when I saw YOU had answered and I started reading the post) I'm actually pretty glad you're proving I have to double check things more before posting. And as per your recommendations, I'll sit on my hands for now and see what you come up with next. |

I have been having all sort of fits with HGB which I think are largely due to the USA FIFO rules. My crim is FXDD. It's a bit complicated to explain, but any SLs for one pair will always be the same. It gets mucked up when using multiple entries, breakeven, jumping stops, and others. Driving me crazy Anyhoo, over in the HGB thread, arial had a great method . And thought I'd set up a variation. Planing on using the five most volatile pairs then allow only one Trend Trade and one RAD trade, breaking HGB down to it's most basic element, then closing with the TMA VVVV. My latest fly in the ointment happens when I put HGB on the chart. When the next M15 candle appears, it immediately takes the trend trade for each pair, even though the large green arrow is many candles past. I want it to take the trade when the LGA appears. Is there some other setting I'm missing? Risking all by attaching the set file. Sam |

I too have to deal with USA FIFO rules, no hedging. I have been doing visual backtest and even tried to make my own EA to trade the HGI indi where I wanted it to take only one position on the first big trend arrow then add just one position on the first RAD arrow. To me, these appear to be the highest probability trades for working the trend. I have iCustom in the EA so it displays most of the signals and when I overlay the HGI indi on the visual test, I can see all the signals. The problem I see in the backtest, is that the big arrow when it appears by itself gives a good signal and enters the trade properly. However, if the big arrow is overlapped (ie. appears at the same time as) by any other signal (the RAD arrow or the Range arrow) then I get no trade from the big arrow. I don't know if this same problem is happening live, but in the visual backtest I see it missing alot of good trades. Possible solution: Could someone make another version of this great indi (for EA building purposes) which does not have the waves or the range arrows, but has only the Big Trend arrows and Rad arrows? Thanks, Gordon |
