Hi everyone

Thought I'd contribute to this forum by sharing last nights wins ( 3 trades, 180 pips in total :cheer: ).

Took my trades on pairs that have been trending (so not at the beginning of the trend).

Waited for rad signal on the 4hr (pullback), went to 1hr chart waited for trend signal in the direction of 4hr chart trend and took the trade.

Here is one of the trades (4H and 1H chart). Had to go to bed so closed it for 66 pips.

I am sure that I am not the only one to be using in this or similar way, just sharing in case it helps others.

Cant seem to find a clear answer to this question regarding SL placement-

Assume a large Trend Buy arrow (green pointing upwards). Would recommended SL be placed at top of arrow or bottom?

its your choice, that is what the manual teaches, use the top or bottom of the arrow.

So this phone trading thing is doable with HGI.

After 2 days my (demo) account is up 30%. When you stop and think about it, it's ridiculous.
Most good EAs would KILL to be able to produce that MONTHLY.

All I am doing is taking the big arrow signals on about 9 currency pairs on the H1.
I set up HGI to send me email alerts of trend arrows and let me know of the CSS alerts (the wavy lines).
All I do is routinely check my email about once an hour (pretty easy if you're a smart phone addict), and assuming I don't miss the signal by an hour, I just do what it says. I don't bother to look at the charts on my smartphone. I just open and take the trades, then go back to work.

What I don't do is take another signal trade if I already have one on. I had a USDCHF in profit and then I got another signal some hours later close to my original entry. I didn't take it.
If I did, and closed them both out on the CSS alert signal, I probably would have made 40% on the account by now.... but that's life ;)

I would still like to know what other indicators are driving the HGI - just so that I know. :roll:

That said, pretty much all successful traders base their trade direction on the overall long-term "bank" trend on the H4 and larger timeframes.

At what points they jump on the bus for these trends can be done with any any oscillating indicator you like on the lower timeframes - or even price action pattern following (taking pin candles off the high/low of the day after breakouts of the asian range, off fibo levels, off support/resistance, off RSI 30/70, whatever you like.... etc) - but either way, TRADING and HOLDING and ONLY ADDING into a position when all the other trades are in profit to hedge yourself in positive territory BEFORE a signal tells you to stop is the only way to make it in this business. Trust in the SIGNALS and leave the stoplosses and takeprofits behind.

I am very interested in the getting alerts on my smartphone. Just wondering where do you enter your email address on the on settings, also, do you need the pc on all day.

Firstly, I am setting wave alerts and trend alerts on in the indicator, and turning the other alerts off.
There is an Email tab in the Empty4 options. My ISP gives me an email address from their mail server, and I simply use my ISP's mail server details in the Empty4 4 Email settings. Once set up, Empty4 sends test emails.
Push email is possible if your ISP supports it. Mine doesn't. I set my phone to check for email every 15 minutes... so there's some leeway for me to open and close trades without having to panic.
I'm sure there are better ways to do this than email, such as SMS pushes.... but I haven't looked into this.

Speaking of panicking, before going to bed I set all positive trades to breakeven. I can handle having trades in profit fall back to breakeven. I cannot handle trades going negative.

Yes you will need a PC running all day - or pay for a commercial VPS service. For this express purpose I have a low-power cheap laptop (an asus x200ma) running off my home network. I could have left it as-is, but as a personal preference, I removed the hard drive and replaced it with an SSD and installed windows server onto it. The SSD uses less power, runs quietly, and doesn't generate much heat - which is important if I'm going to leave it unattended in the house during periods of hot weather. Even in sweltering heat it stays cool and quiet and it's fan doesn't need to run. This is important because the last thing you want in your home is something that sounds like a jet engine.

I plug it directly into my router with a LAN cable (I wouldn't use wireless). The important thing with using a laptop is the battery. If there's a blackout at home, the laptop will keep running until the network comes back on-line (usually within an hour or two). Yes you can get battery-backed uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) for the home, but I've never had the need to go and buy one.

Without the PC on how are going to get the signals?????????????

On Empty4 go to tools, then options, then email. Click the enable button.

I went to google with the name of my email company and asked for SMTP server address for my email company. I put that in the first box. The 2nd box is your email address or your log in address if it is different from your email address. The third box is your password to your email address. The next two boxes I reentered my email address both times. Hit test and wait for the email to come to your box.

On your HGI indi make sure the email is set to true and you will get signals from your Empty4. To check just turn the Empty4 off and then on so you get some signal and check your email for the message. I have wavy lines and Arrows set to true to start. Good luck.

Thank you Rio and Bob, you are both very gracious in sharing the above information. Unfortunately, I dont think I will be ble to leave a pc on at this stage, but perhaps in the future.

Regarding alerts, if you are using an apple or android smartphone, the Empty4 app is awesome and issues real-time alerts. It links to your instance of Empty4 running HGI.
