It won't. The dollup lotsizing changes the lotsize halfway the entered dollup value. If you enter 0.01/$1.000 then 0.02 will start when equity reaches $1.500, 0.03 after $2.500 etc. So when dollup is 0.01/$500 then 0.02 will start when $750 is reached, 0.03 after $1.250 etc. If you want 0.02 only after $1.000 is reached, the dollup should be entered as 0.01/$666 Then the 0.03 kicks in after $1.665 [$666 x 2.5] and so on. I strongly advise manual lotsizing when trading 0.01/ 0.02 lots to avoid surprices. |

I hear what you are saying but... it seemed to work fine? Note the 0.02 trades when the balance reached £1000 however you are saying it would have done the same at £750 hmm so I need to adjust to £666 |

No need to say sorry. Been there, done that. Especially in the beginning it is vital to keep a close eye on the lotsizing. When equity is $10.000 then 0.19 or 0.20 lots don't make much difference anymore. |

All my baskets are closed for the day although I had a big drawdown in the Asian session which closed beautifully on all my accounts |

I think it needs the bigger lot sizes as the target increases, otherwise you might miss the target, thats the reason for changing them. Not so much for drawdown. I think the system is proven pretty solid so far with 0.01 lots up to £1000, but I noticed it starting to struggle to achive the targets. Increased lot size seems to have cured it, however we adjust it manually or by dollop setting. Worth noting the EA with V3 has now achieved 100% wins for 40 straight tries which if it was a coinflip to achieve heads 40 times in a row would be.... Pretty impressive |

Or set the target manually as well. |

The target needs to vary but be a fixed 1% of balance to achieve the compound interest as here http://compoundaily.com/ the only way to do this is increase the lot sizes as we go. For example 1 EA at 0.01 can easily achieve the $5 target/day but the same EA would struggle to achieve a target of $50/day with a 0.01 lot size. So we can have 10 EA's at 0.01 lot size all producing $5/day with each one having an achievable target to = $50 or 1 EA with a $1 lot size which is the same thing. Hope ive explained my theory properly |

I'm well aware of the power of compounding interest, but I would consider myself a fool to chase the basket closure just for this purpose. I lost to many accounts to go that route. Thing is that at all costs you want to avoid overtrading otherwise your compounding interest will end up with $0,- So if lotsize 'x' will be capable of basketTP 'y' while maintaining reasonable DD, then why aim for a bigger basketTP, or bigger lotsizing when this might damage the account? Just trade a few years longer before retirement. If the strategy can handle the bigger lotsize without dangerous DD, then it's a no-brainer; GO! The main problem with retail-accounts like we trade is that there is no smaller lotsize than 0.01 in Forex, and that was the only reason for me to use a cent-account initially. Now my equity is big enough to trade bigger lotsizes, I transfered all to GP to take it a step further. Attached a spreadsheet I mocked up to see what a certain percentage daily profit will bring in a few day's/ weeks/ months/ years. Just need to change the two red cels and see in awe what lies ahead [if one has the balls to stick with the current dollup while trading HUGE accounts. |
