What can I say?
Version 2.4

NFP (Non-Farm Payrolls) is lurking tomorrow. I always thought it would be nice to have the news as an important factor integrated into the tools we use for trading. Now we have. TDesk (optionally) scrapes the upcoming events from the FF calendar, sorts them by importance and warns about the nearest ones for each pair. It even can warn very explicitely by blocking the signals for a user-given span ahead of the events.

Can the Comments be shown in the dashboard of TDesk?

In case an EA put a Comment or perhaps taking manual trades of different signals

Or is that just a silly idea?

Hi Thomas.

You added an Input option to TDesk to ColourCurrenciesByStrength. In the attached pic it shows Green as Strong, Red as Weak and Yellow as nothing. It also shows that NZDCAD is a Super Signal.

Would it be possible to add an Input option to only show a pair as a Super Signal when one currency is Strong and the other is Weak? So in the attached pic NZDCAD would not be a Super Signal as NZD is not Strong.

I'm loving TDesk :clap:

Hi Bob.

A really good question. I was thinking about that also. But I refrained. Let me explain why:

The computation that colours currencies by strength/weakness is a subset of the MultiSignal computation, just much more coarse. A currency can only have three states: Strong, weak or inbetween. So with 2 currencies, you can have 3x3=9 states. The MultiSignal is much more detailed. It can have 201 states.

As an example, a strong state of a currency can be just above the thresh for strong or at the upper end of the scale, while the weak signal of the other currency can be just below the thresh or at the lower end of the scale. MultiSignal takes exactly that differentiation into account.

If you set "ColourCurrenciesThreshold" a bit lower, the transitions of the currency colors should become very similar to those of the MultiSignal.

I don't see any value in filtering a fine signal by it's coarse derivate. And it would make things over-complex and prone to errors. The currency colouring was meant as a crutch for manual trading. Mechanical trading shall be precise.

I hope that clears it up.

Hi Steve.

My thought is this: If you add Peaky to a set of 4 other indicators and set the entry threshold to 80 or below, the other indicators can "outvote" Peaky if they all agree, but Peaky disagrees.

I am thinking of a concept where the threshold must be reached by the "normal" signals and additionally one (or more) signals are mandatory to agree. So even if all the "normal" signals like HGI, SS, etc. agree, but (for example) Peaky disagrees, the signal would still not be valid.

I was wondering if you were still looking to implement mandatory indicator/s for entry and exit.

I am running Leon's 'Wavegarrick's HGI Trading' setup and had a large loss on GBPNZD. Maybe if we exited on the change in the STOCH7 D1 alone that would have saved some of this loss.

I welcome your feedback

Dear Thomas,

I quite agree with Richard that mandatory indicator entry and exit would be a valuable feature to explore further. In my observation, the standard stop loss is too mechanical, using Super signal reversal to exit means the stop loss could be too late. Using specific indicator for exit seems helpful.

Thank you for your hard efforts on TDesk, it is marvelous invention !
