I enter into a trade based on the trend arrow, the trade starts to go against me, I check to see if the signal is still valid by refreshing and it disappears...
It is what it is, I am afraid. It is question of take it or leave it and we will NOT go . As we know the back tester in Empty4 is shit and it is not suitable for testing strategies or robots, however, you can use the visual back testing feature of the Empty4 to see and understand how indicators behave.

As you can see, i should have stay in my last trade but this shooting star+ wave wasn't a good presage.
It was already a good winner anyway

I'm using fractals for stoploss, i have also two MA (100,50) to show the main direction and a non-lag ma to confirm.I take every arrow signal from the HGI but if the arrow is in the opposite trend direction and i don't agree with the HGI indicator according to my other indicator or my skills, then i'll monitor more often the trade just to be sure i won't loose to much.

Alan

Hey Ron,

I use now the last version of HGI( v16.02), but last week it was with the 15.06 version.
I trade in 1H time frame, i like it because it keeps you into it but in the same time you have enough time to think about what you want to do.

Now i buy AUD/JPY and sell GBP/AUD, in both cases, the trade is in the good direction, nonlag-ma is ok...we'll see. I'm a little bit worry about GBP/AUD because on the daily chart, we are about to reach an important level.

Hope you can load those charts

Regards
Alan

only some little changes, as from many users wished, the wavy alerts are now more specific, showing range start/ end and positioning on chart.
The indicator can handle if user has less than 550 bars on chart and history limited (on vps for saving resources), it will new work as intended with less bars and not show wrong calculations..
The color changing should now better work and not reset.

The new HGI 16.02 is too attached to the first post.

Cheers :)

Tommaso
thanks tommaso. so what is the minimum number of bars with this version?

Hi Tommaso, just wondering if the Hurst filter is not functioning properly on this one?
I note when I placed this on EURAUD Daily with Hurst on it still shows the red trend arrow on the 22nd, whereas with the 15.08, Hurst filter true it doesn't give that arrow.

Thanks again, Cherry

best is always >550, but if there is no possibilty to have this number, it can too work with less bars, there will be min. different results but nothing too relevant. There is no direct minimum, the calculations will only be less accurat, as some calculations will so be done with less statistical data. The difference to the old versions, is that the new one will try do make the best possible with less data, and not give you quasi randomized results like the previous ones.

Cheers :)

optimal is the maximum possible.., but the differences will be min. and have no significant influence for real trading...

Cheers :)
