The Matilda with USDJPY is switched off - the DD was much higher then 90 % - that is nearly the MC already.

Ok - again a trading week is over !
Moving forward on the way of finding appropriate pairs for the matilda.

Accordingly to the "4 group classification" I made already above in another post, we have now atm (!) the following results after this week:

1. The EURCAD, GBPAUD + (USDJPY) blow the account – we are out !
2. Pairs running in a terrible way, DD much higher then 20% - I must be candid, I think they’ll soon possibly (!) crash the acc’s: USDCHF, GBPCAD, AUDJPY, CADJPY (nearly dead !), AUDNZD, GBPJPY + USDSGD ! The following ones are black hats too: GBPNZD, EURGBP, USDCAD + EURAUD - BUT: I watched, they could recover well and considerably in some cases ! :good:
3. Good candidates, DD between 10-20% only: GBPUSD, AUDCHF, CADCHF, NZDJPY, NZDCAD, NZDUSD, EURJPY !
4. The best pairs so far (!) (BUT: running them only a short time !), DD lower then 10%: EURUSD, AUDUSD, CHFJPY, GBPCHF, AUDCAD, USDTRY, SGDJPY, EURNZD, EURCHF, NZDCHF !

:good: :cheer:

Ok !

So here we go ! :hi:

Although I wont finish my testing of the bots + new bots now, it's time to focuse more and more on the best candidates I feel confident with.

I'll perhaps abandon the CF Gold EAs bcz they demand a lot of manual interventions - like Brian is doing it very successful ! Maybe his way is at the end the only one bringing prosperity ? Who knows .... :uff:
Anyway, for him this is the right approach that let him win ! :good:

The OAD is running atm with poor results ... haven't a clue what it could bring further using this EA ?

And last but not least - the EA "TheBullRunner": it seems this one suffers from the same nasty "GTG" (Grid Trader's Gap) remaining the crucial prob of all the grid EAs and representing a real battle itself !

So what is left ?

The Matilda and a new rising star: Steve's "Fractalated Bob" (FB).

The main purpose now is the more detailed testing with various settings using only these two bots.

A lot of work has been done already with the Matilda. Let's see how she will do the job further and what will bring us her new boyfriend FB ?

The Matilda H4 demo acc's for these pairs are switched off:
EURAUD, EURGBP, GBPNZD, AUDNZD.
(These 4 accounts are moved into the archive - TGTFX2)
I did this bcz I saw, that these pairs could recover after big, in some cases hugh, DD's and they gave a nice gain.
Especially the GBPNZD did a remarkable run: it made 30 % win ! And all that ocured after being in deepest DD.
So on principle it's a clear picture - nearly every pair (except some of them  ) may be used, but it could start with terrible DD's. The account - big enough - can survive and recover .... or not :o
So step by step the single pair demo acc's with the Matilda will be switched off. Let the better ones run for a while longer more. But at the end the procedure will/must be the same: start with only one pair - best with the proven GBPUSD. Other pairs for the start are perhaps possible as well. You may find them mentioned in the posts above. Doubling the account you may add other "good" pairs step by step.
That's all I think about the Matilda so far. At the end of the year will go live and stop here all demo testing.
It seems the FB will/may complete my bots for my live trading. Possibly ... ;)

So what do we have after this Scottish week ?

Hey, firstly we all are still alive ! :cheer:

I made a a short analysis again. A lot of pairs are switched of - they showed what they had to show: after big DD's it's possible to recover quite well ! :good:
The table below shows the pairs (CP), the gains so far obtained, the DD's and the quotient of them.
Only the pairs listed with a quotient are in use atm. All the others are switched off bcz of high DD's.

CP % gain % DD Q-Factor

AUDCAD 6,07 15,06 0,40
AUDCHF 7,66 13,47 0,57
AUDJPY
AUDNZD
AUDUSD 29,37 6,70 4,38
CADCHF 8,72 11,25 0,78
CADJPY
CHFJPY 14,95 10,75 1,39
EURAUD
EURCAD
EURCHF 7,84 6,12 1,28
EURGBP
EURJPY
EURNZD 16,25 9,80 1,66
EURUSD 23,81 7,58 3,14
GBPAUD
GBPCAD
GBPCHF 18,91 13,26 1,43
GBPJPY
GBPNZD
GBPUSD 33,67 17,32 1,94
NZDCAD
NZDCHF 13,25 9,00 1,47
NZDJPY 3,10 10,76 0,29
NZDUSD 22,86 13,58 1,68
SGDJPY 20,88 6,29 3,32
USDCAD
USDCHF
USDJPY
USDSGD
USDTRY 9,44 7,66 1,23

Perhaps avoid CAD + JPY, CHF is possible a favorite. The exoctics SGD + TRY did a good job so far.
Anyway, all these results are only for now !
So using the GBPUSD as the reference pair we have additional 14 pairs for earnings ... that's right now, of course any fundamentals may tomorrow change the picture in a jiffy !
So the number of test accounts is decreasing as expected.

Btw - the new rising star FB looks like a comet ! :!!:

Hi chaps !

So what do we have until now ?

Firstly: The longer running Matilda is as well as ever on the right way !
Secondly: It seems a new star is born and riding up - the Fractalated Bob (FB) or should we rename it already TIFB (=The Incredible Fractalated Bob) ?
Thirdly: Besides the Matilda + FB I have no other odds-on favorites atm !

On the MANDL2007 MFXB-account 6 single pair demos are now left for the matilda, showing quite reasonable results atm: EURCHF, EURNZD, NZDCHF, NZDJPY, CADCHF and AUDCHF.
I let them run a bit longer for some weeks.
Thanks god, the GP 5 demo starting unadvertant with GBPUSD + AUDUSD together is going forward with good results.
What's going on in the TGTFX MFXB-account ?
Here we have atm another 6 pairs doing well with the matilda: SGDJPY, EURUSD, AUDUSD, CHFJPY, NZDUSD and USDTRY. The AUDCAD (loonie again !) and the GBPCHF are a bit far behind already - the DD is 20%, not so dramatically, they perhaps will recover (when ?) but I'll move them into the archiv soon !
The oldest Matilda acc (see GP 18) running here since may (!) is troting forward.
The equity/balance curves are beautiful picture ! :cheer:

So what about the TIFB (on MFXB-acc "TGTFX") ? The best bot I sever saw during the last years !
I have this Pip-Monster on two acc's with 3k and 0.02 lot (started with 0.01 lot) - both on TF M15 - see GP 1 + 6. The trading time limitations I tried, apparently doesn't improve the results. Perhaps the DD is slightly lower ? On GP 9 + 11 the test is going with only 1k starting capital, 0.01 lot and (basket) TP 1% vs. 2%. It seems that it's even better to work with 2% !
And yes: the 3k accounts use all 31 pairs Global Prime offers, the 1k accounts use only 15 pairs - random selected.
On the "MANDL2007" MFXB-acc the "FB" is running in a H1 test. So far I can't see any advantage of different TF's. It's doing pretty good on the M15 and on the H1 as well.
So far I have really no detailed and accurate idea whats the best settings are - it's more a random trying left and right from OOTB.
Any thoughts about more precise testing for finding optimal settings are welcome. :good:

:hi:

Some new observations we have here.

So it's oviously better not to limite the trading hours for the FB (like I did it at the GP 1: 8-18). Couldn 't get any advantage doing so. :youknow:
The second point is: Mostly all the actual Matilda acc's one after another step by step are going into DD's. Some of them are doing a better job atm - but: sooner or later all they will be in some DD  !
The only hope is, that they recover after sometime ... noone knows how long that nasty DD will last.
So the overall strategy for the Matilda should be: start with 0.01 lot on a 3k GBPUSD, rise the account to 6k and add after that doubling ONE only "better" pair (like AUDUSD or some others: look the demos and former posts with analysis above). :)

I am also running FB. The 240MA is used for direction. My guess is when this MA turns and it cloeses open orders, you may get hit really hard with a loss. I believe it will suffer as CF and Matilda has suffered. BUT - if we figure out a reasonable stop loss we are good to GO!! So, I am interested in your settings, are you using any sort of stop protection?
