Just wondering.. On wavy and trendwave setting s...what are your minpipdistances set to?

Thanks
SAM
Thanks Sam
Min Pips was 100  for Blue Wavy and 20 for TrendWavy, now both 20 and see if that cures it, the comment I changed.
regards
Tony

It would be a big improvement if you can have a HTF Wave filter.
Hahaah, your prayers are honored.. Will put up 2x1 in post 1.. With this feature added..
Thanks a lot. I will test it as soon as I got a bit more time.
I have been studying the code to find what you guys did as I would like to be able to do such stuff myself...apparently the new segment is at 4400 with a switch and cases. .way above by current expertise.
I saw something inconsistent at line 4375 with two 'break;' on the same line. Don't know if this is typo?
Reading the code I understand it is now hard coded that Trend and Rad trading is disallowed during Range?
WhoKnows » Mon Feb 16, 2015 8:35 am wrote: And for the future it would be an even bigger improvement if you would have an extra even lower TF (e.g. H1) to further refine your Exits. Manually I now try to Exit my open H4 trades, based on H1 counter Waves or H1 counter Arrows. A counter H1 wave shows up much earlier than a reversal and Yellow Wave in H4.
So far this appears to significantly reduce the DD of open trades, and conserves more profit than a simple stoploss.
Well, let's have a thought on this..
Currently I am more focussed on gettiing better entrys.
And SL out of trades.. I even want to set all closings on opposite signals to none, as it is preventing the trade sometimes for taking the whole move..
Fair enough. If I learn more, I'll try to code it myself. I tried SL but found it not satisfactory as a SL doesn't reflect what is happening with your trading instrument (ATR based SL is a bit better). The Wave concept is revolutionary for me as it appears to be a leading indicator and based on shifting relative strength. Hence my interest to using that approach for Exitting trades.
I like good entries, but generally I think overall profitability is more determined by Exits and MM than Entries. Based on my failures in the beginning of trading, and after a lot of reading, I decided years ago to focus my attention more on how I handled Exits and MM, instead of trying to optimize Entries. Since that shift I finally became profitable. But everybody has/needs their own approach.

With regard to trying to capture the whole move, I think it that is also a trading style issue. Several Trend traders try to get in at the beginning, including the famous Turtle style traders. But trying to get in at the start of a new trend, invariably means that you will have to accept that you enter in trend changes that do not follow through and result in ranging periods. It is known from statistics of e.g. the Turtle traders that they had periods of months and months of DD before a 'real trend' developed that took them to big profits. For such an approach you must have a good stomach for DD and infallible trust in your system.
With an EA I would rather enter later into an established trend even if I miss part of the beginning.
As part of the entries...
I Would like to prevent RAD and some Trend trades to go into immediate drawdown..
Those signals sometimes show up on a candle which is counter direction.
If someone has some ideas (even better code) on how to prevent that dd.
And enter the trade at a better point.. much appreciated..
In case you did not see it:
On the Manual HGI thread they mentioned using the STO7 method. Bob also mentioned an approach based on letting the price retrace and enter based on a fast average trigger line.

Thanks again for your efforts

Recomended update for everyone who uses BlueWave Trades.
In 2x, I forgot to include the code to close it on opposite wavys :arrrg:
I want to upgrade to 2x1 but I have about +900 pips floating in open trades. Are the on going trades being picked up and be controlled by the latest 2x1 version?
I have 2x now.

Could someone please explain what the "HGI TimeFrame Filters" do exactly?

Thank you! I had read that just forgot. So if I were to set BoHGB up on H1 and I entered 1440 in the HTF and 240 in the Medium TF, it could only trade in the direction of both of those signals? And if those signals didn't agree, it wouldn't be able to trade.

Hi Boinvests, thank you so much for your kind efforts. I have been demoing this EA which I found that it is showing accurate entries and exits, pretty reliable, thanks again.

At the same time I also trading live manually with HGI signals. In order to reduce immediate drawdown and eventually turn into actual loss when the market retraces when taking multiple positions. I observe that one good way is to use the Stoch 7 as a filter. For example, if there is a Buy Rad signal in the current bar, multiple pendings will not be sent unless Stoch 7 is rising or Stoch 7 turns up in the next 5 bars ( if Stoch 7 is falling when the Buy RAd signal is given). The same applies to Trend trades.

This method has saved me a few pips in many instances in the past.

This involves a look back for valid signals and act accordingly with the help of Stoch 7. I hope this is not too difficult to code and also you feel interested to do so.

Cheers !

That is correct, you need not use both, HTF uses trend MTF more signals if I remember correctly. You can filter with either. I use the twin MA filter by preference ...matter of your choice

Hi kwchau. A few questions, as I've been experiencing missed entries I'm trying to figure out the reason for:

- How long have you been demoing?
- What version are you using?
- What timefram have you attached the EA to?
- Have you seen any missed entries yourself?
- Could you share your setfile?

Thanks for the feedback!

I might have to start a M15 demo using 240 as the HTF next week. I'd be curious to see how that does.
