At the moment I am looking at 20 pairs (I don't trade CHF).
Generally, I don't trade the Asian session, although AUD, NZD and JPY news happens then so I may pick my spots if there is something major that would likely carry over to London and New York sessions.

I've noticed this too and of course it's always a heartstarter waiting and believing in your decision while it slowly goes backwards along with your balance until it eventually turns around and moves up.TraderJoeForex » Wed Sep 14, 2016 6:30 pm wrote:Has anyone else noticed there is often a fairly consistent retracement pattern following a CSS cross, It is most obvious on H4, D1 and W1 but occurs on all timeframes.
It doesn't happen on every cross .. perhaps less than 50% but waiting for this retrace before entry can offer much lower risk, drawdown and more winning trades.
Here a few screenshots looking at D1 past few days... I have put a horizonal line/arrow to mark the area/candle where there were opportunities to jump in after a retrace. Where this pattern occurs price retraces towards the high/low of the actual candle where the CSS cross happens. Since we need to wait for that candle to close for a valid signal, waiting for a retrace can usually offer at least 1 ATR price advantage, sometimes more.
I am using the CSS cross and then HGI and Halftrend for added confirmation - when they all line up you can be almost guaranteed of a solid move in the right direction. I'm also staying out of some crosses until the breakout goes through any strong R/S lines.
As with most things the real struggle is in the mind with patience - especially here in Australia where the GP D1 candle closes at 7am and then it is another 8-9 hours before London opens and the action starts happening.

I am trading D1 but am also taking some sneaky H4 trades around late afternoon (AUS time) when I can see there is a 20-30 pip (or more depending on the currency pair) move to fill to an R/S line. These have been quite a good-earner and scratch the itch for me in terms of doing something in between D1 candles. Are you trading D1 candle or H4 chart based off of D1 CSS?
I ditched the two Aussie trades as Unemployment news is coming in a couple of hours so that could go either way so best to sit it out.

BALUDA'S SUPER CSS-2.0. THE SIMPLEST TRADING SYSTEM EVER
Since Monday (l know short test period) I have been having some great success with basket trading the 1H crossover signals.
I wanted to wait for a day like today where the market pretty much just went sideways on the London open to see how the trading method faired in such a market before posting. Earlier in the week my targets were hit pretty swiftly in comparison to today's market.
Below is an image of todays trades results.
Before explaining the system take a look at the trade results, notice that out of the 24 pairs traded only 10 pairs ended in positive territory, the other 14 ended in the red. It only took a positive move on two pairs, GBPNZD and GBPCHF to negate all the losing trades and hit my basket profit.
It was actually Steve who gave me the idea when he made an off the collar comment that he may basket trade because he noticed a reversal during the US session.
System.
1] Chart Time Frame: 1H
2] Start time: UK opening (10:00am Bully Pepperstone).
3] Entry: Buy or sell if the UK 07:00 (09:00 Bully Pepperstone) CSS colour is different from the previous 06:00
Trade example: If it does not meet the requirement just wait for a crossover and take the trade: 4] I risk 1% per trade with a stop loss set at 2 x 20 Day ATR. So if 20 day ATR is 100 then set SL to 200 with 1% risk. I then delete the SL. The reason for this is very simple, I am hedging and if the price goes against me by 200 pips I should have a fair few counter trades taking care of it for the basket closure. I do have the basket trade manager set at 30% because if it makes it that far something went seriously wrong. I had 115 trades open today and DD went to just below 3% for a short period on the GBP rate news.
5} My TP is a mere 1% per day. One basket per day.
6] Once in a trade I trade every 1H candle until the basket is hit. ALWAYS trade in the direction of the CSS, NEVER try to over think where you think the market is going, just concentrate on the process and let the dice fall where they may.
Points to note if you want to give this a go:
a] You will miss a lot of pips because placing a lot of manual trades on the hour takes a few minutes and the candles can move some distance from the open of the new candle. I just live with it. b] You could on days like today be placing many trades so a low leverage account will not cut it, probably a minimum of 1:400
c] Because it is a hedging system and given the quality of the CSS signals the pairs which are whip sawing are of little consequence because it does not take much of a move with enough trades set in the right direction to close the basket.

I actually trade 27 pairs, all the pairs covered by the CSS except AUDNZD for obvious reasons. Today 3 pairs did not trigger a trade hence only 24 pairs traded.jal811 » Thu Sep 15, 2016 5:04 pm wrote:How do you eyeball and manually trade 24 pairs ?
I just scroll from one pair to the next, I have a purchased trade assistant which I use to place the trade in a few seconds, I just set my risk and stop loss in the EA at the start of the day and it calculates my lot size for me. If I see a Buy I just press B on my keyboard and then the EA offers me a trade, with a single mouse click the trade is set, so does not take forever.

A quick way to navigate between all charts, 1 by 1, is to click the Arrange Windows icon on the toolbar or "Alt + R" keysjal811 » Fri Sep 16, 2016 2:04 am wrote:How do you eyeball and manually trade 24 pairs ?
Then expand the first chart, say AUDCAD if you have arranged alphabetically, check that chart vs the alerts
When ready to move on, click "Ctrl+ Tab" keys - Hold the "Ctrl" and tap the "Tab" key to continue on
To go back, hold "Ctrl + Shift" and again tap the "Tab" key for each chart.
Gives your left fingers something to do, saves a lot of clicking and works very well, hope that helps

Hi Zennor,I actually trade 27 pairs, all the pairs covered by the CSS except AUDNZD for obvious reasons.
Just wondering what are the obvious reasons you don't trade the AUDNZD. I heard many times that the JPY and CHF pairs may be dangerous to trade because of their frequent Central Bank interventions but I never heard anything against the AUDNZD pair.
