It does, doesn't it? Price is above the grey 1MA weekly line, and the 1x0 WOH is also positive. |

It is a matter of numbers. Since the Olympics 4 years ago enrollment has declined every year. New people have not come. Part of the problem is the tightening of visa regs, part is the tightening of business rules (very difficult to get business license to start a business for foreigner in China), part is the new taxes levied against foreigner income, part is the worldwide downtrend in the economy, and part is refusal of Korean education system and some others to accept high school credits from schools outside their own countries. Bottom line is I have a dieing business on my hand so losing over half of my students this year. June 15 is the deadline for returning students to enroll. Then I see if I have enough to continue. All my teacher and staff know they may get laid off. 3 are already gone and have found other work. The rest are waiting tosee if they still have a job. Me, I am always employable as an English teacher in China because of my experience and qualifications but my school ..................... we will see. |

I do admire your courage and energy. If it was me I would just stick with teaching and not bother with the business, especially in a country which is entangled in tons of red tape. The economic outlook is gloomy everywhere. Thus far my company has been fortunate in increasing turnover over the last two years. But just as an indicator of how bad the British economy is doing we look at the traffic. up to 18 months ago around 09:00am driving from Heathrow Airport to London in main the highway (M4) you would see a build up of traffic from around 10 miles before Cromwell road, now days the traffic build up starts 3 miles before this road. No new roads, No major alternatives. The sheer fact is less and less people travelling for work or business. The problem for the UK is that almost all manufacturing is gone and 90% of the income is from financial services which is reliant on overseas markets. The rest of Europe (with exception of Germany) is not doing much better. We are keeping our fingers cross. Kind Regards P.S. Sorry to be so gloomy, but IMHO it is being realistic. |

Our politicians and economists have missed the underlying cause of this recession. They are treating it as a slowdown of business, and that is true but the underlying cause is it is a deleveraging recession. Which means to get out you have to reduce your debt. Govt. corp. personal, etc. We are not doing very well in that dept. The USA is reducing its overall debt but our govt. keeps piling on new debt and that is slowing down any chance of recovery. If we had recognized it earlier we would have known to just take the hit borrow as little as possible and we would probably have worked our way out. But no, so now we will be like Japan, an ever muddling economy dragged down by excessive debt. Forex markets are becoming more and more volatile. If you can guess the next run you can make tons of money. I/we missed the jpy run this week. |
