I've installed the latest release Final V1.00; Is the 'out of the box ' the best setting ?
Until now, I did not see any orders appearing;
I'm using 'FinFx' as demo

your final version works great. Like the sweet exe should cut the forum noise on loading errors! plus that dll issue. Anyway moving on and now focusing on use!!!!

I believe this EA gives us the opportunity to trade 10.4 with great flexibility including taking elements from 10.4 but not applying it in the same way as NB as Andy has explained.
The basic premise stays true: Trend trading, efficient entry with retracements back to the trend direction. I believe many on the forum have the ability to work test, assess and refine the options of this EA especially around an end of day type schedule where trades are not intervened manually during the day- afterall if we were 100% screen time dedicated we may not need an EA.

**** I would like to suggest we take a structured approach to collaborating on testing, settings and results. I know the problems with brokers and with different traders risk appetite but I believe the groups will be able to reach some consensus after all we all want min DD and max profit. :

So I would like the traders on this forums who are interested in testing the application of this final EA in the market using different strategies on both demo and or live to help define say 3 or 4 key strategies e.g.
Group 1. Weekly filtered pairs on basis of CSS D1 strongest and weakest 3 (manual rule based selection of the pairs to trade) weekly intervention revisions
1.1 RSI2 on TP and trade management settings TSL etc TBD
1.2 ....
Group 2: Daily filtered pairs using CSS H4 taking strongest and weakest
Group 3..
etc..

The key is to select the best strategies, consistently apply, and share results (that are as a result of the strict application of the strategy!), make observations and compare results across alternative strategies. Continue to refine and select best strategies..
Does this fit with others expectations and interests to take this EA forward?

Hi Jonathan, I'm interested to test this final version EA. It may be more systematic if you could centralize and coordinate the choices of settings and send them out to interested members to set up the test.

I'm candidate too !
But to be able to compare, we should use a standard way of testing, or comparing is not possible.
All the result should be posted on myfxbook or something on one general account.
Just some ideas

Please close ALL your Empty4 Session for Install is really bad. Whats if I use one real and
one demo Empty4? No Install as long a Trade is running? :(

Install EXE is verry cool for Traders who need that. But ZIP Verion was fine, if I like to see what goes on. :)

I'm not talking about BT. I understand that we are going to do forward testings with different settings and so that we can find out the best settings from the forward test.

No BT just intelligent selection of settings on basis of trading logic, preferences , fwd testing and results assessment.
I understand statistical significance of fwd testing over a relatively short period has limited ability to forecast future profitability- although performed over a basket of currencies provides better/more performance data over a single pair exercise. BT over longer period with clean data can be better with simple trading logic/EAs but leads to curve fitting. Plus the market can always throw a curve ball which has not been seen recently. (Gann's book on market cycles in 1941 did pretty well at pointing to all the problem periods incl. 2008-12 but that's another story..
So suggestion is to use the EA final and for example, 10.4.10.5 info page indi showing CSS overview and to have some different degrees of semi automated trading with the EA to max profit minimise DD with fwd testing.

So lets start to define the Strategies to Test
Focusing initially on selection and Entry although to compare results we will need to have common trade management settings as well.
All settings OOTB unless otherwise defined set files TBD after strategy consensus (I use the word consensus knowing that with experienced traders this is like "herding cats!"

Selection - defines the rules for selecting the pairs to Trade
CSS dist. from 0 - i.e. Speed
CSS angle above the line and angle up=acceleration
and angle down deceleration below the line angle up deceleration below the
line angle down acceleration.

Entry - defines the entry criteria in the EA e.g. RSI2, CSS, Pivot level selection mid or SR1, or 2

Trade Management - pivot selection, basket trailing and profit level, pairs trailing TBD all in final version of EA


1. Strategy 1 -
a) Select best Pairs on Sunday from CSS 10.410.5 info page on D1 take top 2 currencies above 0.4
and below -0.4 plus 2 currencies that are above +0.2<0.4 and below -0.2>-0.4 and that have an
angle (therefore acceleration) towards greater strength or weakness respectfully and combine
all potential pairs strong to weak. Put pairs in currencies to trade in EA. Revise each evening if pair
selection still valid
Check if Pair is approaching a major daily SR line if yes take out of selection if likely to influence.
To make this less subjective I suggest using a common indi I use evertrend on h4 over the
last 3000 bars but happy to consider other - as long as it does not litter charts with 100s of lines,
b) Use RSI2 98 & 2
c) CSS on

2. Strategy 2 -
as per strategy 1
b) RSI off
c) CSS on

3.Strategy 3 -
a) as per 1
b) RIS2 on
c) CSS off


4 Strategy 4-6 TBD

as you can see pair selection alone could have D1 level and angle H4 level and angle 4 strategies before you even touch other criteria such as RSI etc. However, I believe that selection is a key part of running this EA consistently.

I would therefore like to ask the forum from their experience with this EA 10.4 final v1 or since v2.00 or from the wider 10.4 forum what strategies they consider to be the best options selection , entry and trade management.

I will coordinate and generate the set files for testing

Note there is no magic formula here this is about a detailed understanding of 10.4, this EA, looking at charts until they make sense, identifying and challenging trading logic, setting up the EA and analysis.
