Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
New version DWMPivots v1.0.9 in this post.
Changes:
One more thing about GMT+2. There is no need to adjust the setting for your b*roker. DWMPivots knows all bout GMT and does this for you. Leave this at default values and we all should get similar DP and DO.
Enjoy,
Paul
Changes:
- Fixed bug/glitch in the 'shiftDayChange' function

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
Working on it. I am thinking of a MA close EA, all it would do is close a trade when a MA is crossed. Still have a close in SL but if price runs it wont stop it.sk29 wrote:So, my trades for today 01/11/2013 are as shown in the picture.
Obviously, things begin to work in the right direction, but there are too many early stop outs. Any recommmendations on what would be a next good experiment on SL, TP, and JS?

What about maybe implementing some kind of partial % closure within the Jump EA that monitors all magic no 103's. Say with mptm setting the intial 18sl 100tp and then the jump doing its thing with the trailing stop + whenever say 30pips is hit (or whatever you define) 50% of the position is closed letting the rest run with the Jump EA.
Trying to catch best of both worlds I guess.

What if SL would be bellow/over DP?

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
Friends,
I follow the trial here for some days and have taken into account that there are some confusion with DO- and DP- indication concerning the open times of stock exchanges and time zones.
To compare the results on a common basis, it should be agree as suggested, which defaults to use.
It depends on the appropriate trading sessions in Europe, US and the Asian-, maybe also the Australian session and what pairs we like to trade.
I do not know and I´m not very firm with the calculation of the time zones, as “Atharmian” has introduced to our convenience.
The Euro will trade during european time, than followed by the $ with an offset of 6-7 hours to NYSE/Chikago-SE and the Asian-channel with Yen and AUD afterwards.
Anyway in europe daylight saving time has to be considered.
That is still not already all.
The future markets will count 1h before open stock exchange (SE) and therefore in addition I´d like to ask the question, if it makes sense to trade before or directly at the open of SE to indicate the DO in any setup in such way?
Advanced future traders, who are experienced with “Market Profile” (trading value areas) will not enter a market directly at the open of SE, they will not enter a market directly at the open of SE, they will wait until 1h after open of SE to get the daily open signals. Try it!
From my point of view, the DP indicates the past daily movement and therefore will not have the same weighting as the daily open. The daily open will/can indicate the direction. At the SR-levels and the high-lows-movements we should be carefully.
BTW, if the price has moved more than the average daily movement by a homerun, be it long or short, retracements have to be considered.
Only thoughts…

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
I have taken the opportunity to do a comparison between the different versions of the DWMP indi provided by Baluda and Nanningbob.
The screen shot above shows three windows that are clearly labeled with the version of DWMP. The center and right-most windodw are versions recently provided by Baluda that include GMT Offset. The left-most window was a version by Baluda, but modified by Nanningbob.
The effect of using GMT+2 caused the calculations to be performed two hours earlier, on the hourly charts, obviously affecting the calculations. This was two hours before the end-of-day separator. As you can notice on the screen shot, the lines shift to the left. I am reserving my comments as to whether this produces the desired results.
I currently use Cowboy IBFX-US as my b"roker who uses a GMT Offset of 0 (GMT+0).
DWMP for 10.2 v1.0.6 1H OR LOWER (Nanningbob's latest official release)
DO - 1.32717
DP - 1.31960
DR1 - 1.33543
DS1 - 1.31136
DWMP for 10.3 v1.0.8 w/GMT+2
DO - 1.32663
DP - 1.31936
DR1 - 1.33494
DS1 - 1.31148
DWMPivots v1.0.9 w/GMT+2
DO - 1.32663
DP - 1.31936
DR1 - 1.33494
DS1 - 1.31148
It would be interesting for others to contribute their results (along with b*roker and their GMT Offset) and have them tabulated and published. We would then have a much clearer picture of what we are all dealing with regards to DO and DP calculations.
Hopefully you will find this information interesting and helpful.
Regards,
-Frank

Re: 10.3 SCALPER/RANGE TRADE SYSTEM
About GMT offset.
Don't know if this method is posted already?
Anyways.
In Empty4 market window right click and select time then you will see timestamps for last trade and hence you have server time. With this information and comparing it to you own time you can ascertain GMT offset.
I read this on FF so thanks goes to Hanover for the solution.
