I think you'll find they do repaint Darshang but it really doesn't matter. People get so instantly anti-repainting indicators without understanding their purpose. If you used something that gave you a clear trade signal but then repainted then that is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard. If you use something like your TMA bands where they are saying - "Hey - check this out there might be an opportunity here" - then no problem at all (as long as you understand visual backtesting can be taken with a pinch of salt).

I have some non-repainting TMA bands (which are LWMA bands essentially I believe) but they are not very useful imo.

Cheers,
Dave.

Change the threshold from 0.5 to 0.1 and you get a different kind of dummy light with the center band. This simplifies the screen taking out the DP 240 and 60 MA lines and relying on the dummy lights to tell you which side you are on.

Hi Dave... Thanks for the response and your insight ! I do get what you are saying. Essentially what you are saying is once a "repainting" indicator gives you a signal, use your judgment and/or other filters to ensure its a valid signal. Guess that's the tough bit and hopefully that's where Bob's method comes in to play..

Cheers !

If I can get the LWMA changed to SMMA and smooth those lines out I could get it close to the other TMA and it would be close. Then it would be more accurate. I had to do that to the CSS to make it work but I cant find the adjustment in this NRP one.

I think you would need Paul or someone equally talented for that Bob - beyond my meagre talents I'm afraid.

Just found a word you guys spell differently that I wasn't aware of....meager.

Now I remember all the fun I had with the TMA when I tested it before. Simply couldnt get a good back testing version and the real one was too good to be true. LOL still it would have been great if it actually worked that way.

The best version of the TMA is the CSS. We measure the angle of increase or decrease and then we understand the strength of the move. In case you wondered where CSS came from it was modified from the TMA. All the angles are then combined/averaged and that gives us our final number. So that is how CSS works. It is the best thing that has come from the TMA.

However, the TMA in a range time would be accurate but it is off during a trend run. The TMA angles are good on trends but are less accurate during range time. maybe switching back and forth and knowing when is the solution. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

When colors are olive or goldenrod use the TMA, when they are green or red use 10.4 and 10.6 trades. Dang I am going to have to look at that. That would solve many of the problems guys have with range trading if that works. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

 I can see guys rolling their eyes. Bob is going to .........................

Open a program that already works on your charts, paste the TMA into it, rename it to TMA and then save and compile. That is how I do it.

More bad news coming out of China. Beware of buying the AUD and watch out for a run to the JPY for safety. I have pulled some of my JPY sells especially the buys on the aud/jpy and nzd/jpy.
