that is correct. Why dont you run your own test using 16.02 as i did. You should see many symbols on a M30 chart or lower time frame. Then carefully go through the experts file and write down the alert in that file, noting the type of alert and corresponding symbol, then check your chart to see if all of those symbols are on the chart at the proper place and times. You will probably find that they are. then look at the chart and note any symbols that are on the chart and are not in the experts file. You will probably find about 15% are on the chart but are not in the experts log. That was my finding. Be sure you dont do anything of the many actions that will re-initialize your chart. If you do you will get an entirely different chart and symbol placement. that is why many are pulling their hair out. you will also find it benificial to change the various symbol colors around so when it prints over lapping symbols they show up. red small arrows for example will not show on red big arrows when they print at the same time and place. rare but they do. use a black background chart, white bars only (not candles) big yellow down, big turquois up arrows, and the rest default. makes for easy chart read. ron |

Hmm I never tried to trade 30 or 15 mins. And I've never seen something like this on 4h. HGI was made for 4H trading so it could be some bug or something on 15/30 min TF. |

i dont think so. and i agree with trading longer time frames. i am only testing the indi on lower TF to see if it does what it is designed to do. And if it bugs on lower it will bug on higher TF. any indi or such you put your money on the line from should be bullet and bug proof. i know this is all free stuff, and in constant flux, so one must be appreciative and patient. my motive is not to criticize, but to help improve. if we have bugs and know what they are we can deal with it. and the guys will fix eventually, but first they have to know about them. cant fix what you cant see. and it is still a magic piece of work. ron |

As I wrote before, with 16.04 you should not have this kind of errors, 16.02/03 had a glitch that could too have caused this behaviour.. If you see again next week simil problems, let me know.. Cheers Tommaso |

When I had less time to trade, I really struggled with turning to longer term trading from day trading. It was HGI and reading Bob's pdf that switched on the light for me. Bob's trend stats underline how rarely trends change direction. When I have some time, I am betting those changes are closely linked to news events. My approach (I think system would be too grand a word) is at the weekend to look closely at the trends for each pair and look at the impact of the main news events of the last week. Then I check the coming week's calendars and have a picture of how I think the coming news events will play out and which pairs have a good reason to trade. Before each news time, I check my trades with the objective of locking in profit and reducing risk - if I can be in front of the screen, then I watch the HGI matrix. I expect to see mainly RAD trades, but definitely trade any wavy lines for the pairs I have selected. I very seldom take a range trade. So on the whole it is really gut instinct using HGI as my tool. That is why I am so glad that Bob, Renee and Steve have made sure the stunning HGI team keep it simple and resist any more bells and whistles - I like as little noise as possible. By the way, my answer to the doubling 0.01 for 30 days is 10,000,000 but as someone pointed out, accuracy is not the point - just seeing the impact of compounding. Having reached factor 8, I am sure reaching my next doubling milestone is going to be more difficult - but I am not sure it should be theoretically! I am managing my risk % very carefully and do not feel I am taking too much risk. The real key is not getting carried away and I MUST continue to manage risk at the level I am comfortable with - it is still a small account and would be vulnerable to any black swans on the horizon. |

Really good comments of mixing news with the trend. Knowing something of what is going on around you can save your neck. error account. Anyway the problem with the doubling scenario is in a 30 days time you will have losing days or trades and since your doubling your back to zero in one day. That is why you have never seen it work. |

Totally agree with you Bob and know only too well the risk that is always lurking round the corner, down the road. Still having said that, the discipline is really working for me. I knew the money management principles but this objective is making me use MM much more than I have in the past. I am monitoring the %s, much more likely to take profit, closing losing trades - in other words I really do have a plan when I enter a trade. HGI has given me a tool - I feel that I am asking the right questions. HGI doesn't answer the question but it gives a good idea of the probabilities and instead of concentrating on the technicals, I am thinking more about my trading. Hope that makes some sense. |
