Great study and vey helpful!
Since I started with 10.3 I had 29 losses and 15 wins. In addition the average losses are bigger than the average wins. The problem is defenitely the tight SL/JS setup. Also the timing of entry as described in Bob's booklet seems to be extremely important.

I spent lots of hours of manual backtesting during the last days. Still searching for a setup that works for me ...

In the booklet of 10.3 under the TMA slope section in the last sentence, it is stated to use the TMA for 10.3 in the same manner as it was used for 10.2. Does it mean that the TMA lookup for 10.3 is in the H4 tf?

Edit: The answer is Yes. I found it in the examples.

Second that!

It seems that timing and SL/JS management are equally (read very) important.

I have tried widening the Jump EA to 21/7/6/7 with only limited success.

Hi Bob,

I'm focussing on the H4/ D1 TF's using your system, and wonder what settings on the jumps you use on the trending trades. I try to "concentrade" on the crossing of the WP from your pivot-book [very interesting read!].

Like today, I got EURJPY cross the WP from below, entered a buy, and got to 190 pips profit at some point. The array of trademanagement EA's [ I have BBBE and 10+1 jump using the same magic#, mistake] raise the SL to ~120 pips profit and there the trade was stopped out, only to take off again. I banked some serious profit on this trade.

This kind of trades I would like to stay in longer, but using the 10+1 seems to be able to give away to much after reversal.

What do you suggest?

Hmm based on 10.3 beta till now, as expected, the best trades come from those where 10.2a and 10.3 are in sync, I only trade those exclusively because I.m terribly bad at making the right entrances. What I do is play with 1/2 of my typical lot size and enter a lot usually after DO.

If it works well, I add in another 1/2 about 100pips from entry.

If it doesn't I will add in another 1/2 trade at DP and then sit it out.

For all the trades, I apply BE at 10pips, lock in 2 pips. Thereafter 15pips JS. Closure is typically manual when I feel I've earned enough say 300-400pips, depending where I.m in thr TMA slope

Hard SL is at 50pips, TP at 100 pips

Reason for this is because as I.m basically doing a 10.2 trade I will have to let it sit and simmer, which may take a while.

Also I find that BE at 10pips, which if triggers SL At 20 pips means the trade setup is not right, then I go and find other currencies to trade.

Just my 2c

As for the eurjpy trade, it depends on your risk appetite, on hindsight things could always have been better, but at that point, it dropped 40pips. Meaning your trade would have went quite far -ve and would have hit the -18 SL before making its merry way up 100pips

For the pivot analysis stuff, I've posted the details, indicator, instructions, etc, on a separate thread.

Bob,

Thanks so much for your JPY-pairs charts and your analysis about JPY.
Made med catch up some of my losses I had made, will continue
trading the pair to breakeven and then maybe even make some profit.
Think I'll await the BOJ meeting for more trades though.
(Would be great if we could have your input after BOJ meeting).

Thanks again.

When I open Empty4 daily updates DWMPivots not alone, but I have to open the configuration of the indicator, press ok and then you upgrade. you can avoid doing it automatically update?

THe 10.3 was originally designed to be a quick in and out system. So that was an incredible scalp. If you know the fundamental behind the move then you can just hang in there using the slope indi and wait for it to come back under 8 on the daily or 4H chart. The other way is use a MA line, like the 10 MA and keep you sl moving manually just under it. I looked at all the JPY crosses and they are sitting on double tops, with eur/jpy just barely breaking its last swing high. That would be a nice place to TP and look for another reentry or take half and bring your SL to the last swing low. Then you can look to add to the position if it breaks up again and have two trades running.
