Hi my friends. Here is the last news I received from Akib. Dear hilavoku, could you please let others know that the operation was successfull. Due to massive bloodloss they will be keeping her in icu for few days. I'll stay with her until she wakes up. Thank you guys 4 ur support and prayers. God bless. Good to hear that she survived the operation. Now we can only pray... |

Was outside and got his SMS. So i did send the post immediately through my Smartphone. Brrr its cold outside (4°C). So i just posted his SMS. I really can't type anything long with the smartphone  I was really glad to hear that he got the money! As i woke up this morning my first thought was about the money. That he did made it and the WU gave him the money. Puuuh. Good to know the first step was successful and the second step (operation) also. |

Rabeya Ahmed's plight has gone beyond these boards. I mentioned the touching responses to this thread and the generosity being shown to my wife last night. She is a regular contributor to http://www.mylot.com/ I do not know what this site is all about in detail, but I gather it is a social networking site. Chris publicised help.akib@gmail.com at myLot and it seems there have been a few donations from the membership there. Fantastic, or what? Which brings me to another matter - that of paying back the donations. Alpenkorps, nobody donating towards your mum's treatment wants their money back. So far as I can tell, these were donations not loans. Anyone who does want the money repaid can contact you directly and you can arrange repayment with that individual. I do not anticipate any such contacts. So, keep the extra money donated as a hedge against having to pay for treatment needed as a result of your mum's surgery. We all hope that, in a few months time your mum will be preparing to run whatever is your equivalent of a UK 'fun run' to raise money for charity. By then, if there is still some cash left over from the donations here and from myLot, then put it into the charity kitty.  |
