Here's an excel report of the last 3 days of H4 trades it has taken. the original trades i posted with floating $49 profit all closed at about $31. last night about 5 trades opened and closed for around $16 loss, and another 5 are open for a floating $27 profit.

Hi Khalid

I'm glad to see that your EA is showing legs. A recent scare due the relentless weakening of the JPY means I've fallen out of love with EAs which rely on recovery. Sooner or later, there will be a move which is so big that it will overwhelm even the most conservatively set recovery strategy. I was lucky this time, only sustaining moderate losses. I live to fight another day. So my thoughts shifted to EAs which do not try to recover losing positions. Better to cut the losers off and rely on a strategy which produces more winning pips than losers.

Having re-read your original post, and finding that exit optimisation now appears to be your main focus, rather than debugging, I can offer the services of my always-on machine, which can run multiple demos for you, to compare methods. I'm happy to run as many as the old girl can handle. Please let me know if this would be of use to you.

I have been following the posts with interst. I am running on H1 demo with StrategyExit True and no BE, trailing or jumping stop. I really like the idea of ATR BE and ATR trailing stop - I think this is the sensible way to go to manage volatility. The only issue being the historic nature of ATR (depending on the lookback), but its better than a straight pip value.

Attached is the summary of my demo so far. It is a bit up and down, but I am hoping that the ATR updates will help a lot. I am running on EU, AU, NU, GU, AJ, GJ, EJ and UChf. This is also 24hr running, so at some point some analysis of trading times, and setting these per pair would be worthwhile. Has anyone done any trading time analysis?

Thank you freereed. This EA will perform much better with higher volatility so I would think it may improve results if you configure it to trade at market opening hours.

This new version has made a slightly shaky start and lost about 2.7% of equity in the first week of trading. Unlike its predecessor, it is very pleasing to see the ea setting and executing the SL correctly.

It is still very early days yet to pass any judgement on its performance. I am very optimistic it will do well in the long run. The forex business is a marathon, not a sprint. Like before I am sticking to the H4 time frame.

Will post again in a week or two.

Hi Khalid,

Great credit to you for the default setting of SL 38 and TP 0. This has kept the SL to the bare minimum whilst in the last run up by GBPJPY, the ea squeezed every single possible pip and closed the trade with a gain of 90 pips. Most ea would have settled for TP of 50 pips on a H4 TF. Again, well thought out. Those long hours of testing with your Multicharts have paid off handsomely !
