Zero trades on Monday. I opened the flood gates on diff trading by setting threshold to off. Numerous open positions on all demos. Running Demos on H1 with 240 HTF; H4 with 1440; Daily/1440.
Just for fun: 10% risk percent. Great profits. Love this thing. I can't wait to see what she does with an active market. No DD, so far.

Crikey. I abandoned this a long time ago.

Let me know if any adaptations would be any help.

Thank You Steve,3 Pivots(D,W,Mn) will be very helpful.Pivots in a row,Diff.>/< some point-open trade(basket).
Close trade when D1 Pivot crosses Mn Pivot.More precise than close by Diff. level, which depends on Pair and market behaviour.
Some MPTM functions as in Shelley EA .
Best Regards

Yeah, by 'adaptations' I didn't really mean an entire rewrite that changes the bot into something I don't even begin to recognise.

Steve, The most useful change would be to have thresholds that are relevant to the trade type. Currently they are perfect for trade by levels but make no sense for trade by difference. I wrote about it a page or 2 back in detail. On my crappy phone now and just back from the pub so will comment more usefully in the morning.

Cheers,
Dave.

Steve,

i was wondering if it would be helpful to include a dwmpivot(another superb tool from Paul) filter in the ea, such that if the conditions for a buy are fulfilled, the ea checks if the daily pivot is above the weekly pivot, if so, it then proceeds to fire the trade. vice versa for sells.

with this filter enabled, we could catch the higher probability trades on lower times frames like h4 and h1, avoiding the higher risk countertrend trades since the daily/weekly pivot cross is relatively robust as a trend indicator.

so is this doable Steve?

thanks again!

Post subject:  Re: Baluda Slope Strength auto-trader

Hi all,

Let me get something straight first:
  • The Baluda Slope Strength Auto-trader was coded by Steve.
  • Baluda/Paul added the 'trade by difference' and 'tresholds' options to Steve's code.
You could say this is a joint effort, as is most of this forum.

About the EA itself:
  • 'Trade by level' overrules 'trade by difference'. If both are set to true the EA only trades by level.
  • Tresholds can be manipulated, see some posts back.
  • Understand that this is a slow moving EA, it does not take that many trades. You need to test this for several months. (Did he say months? Yes, he did say months!)
Suggestions for changes that make sense will be considered. Please use more than one sentence to make your point.

Paul,

does the following make sense?
"i was wondering if it would be helpful to include a dwmpivot(another superb tool from Paul) filter in the ea, such that if the conditions for a buy are fulfilled, the ea checks if the daily pivot is above the weekly pivot, if so, it then proceeds to fire the trade. vice versa for sells.

yeah i been testing this fabulous ea on many time frames and it honestly works flawlessly..losses were massive on lower timeframes cos the ea fires trades without regard for the pivot crosses.

just kicking myself cos when i finally decided to just put it on the d1 timeframe trading both by level n difference on 2 mt4s, it was on demo ..shulda been live....up almost 2000pips in a few days! now its floating 1800pips! but only on demo....but it proves the concept by Baluda/Paul seriously kicks ass bigtime!

with the daily/weekly pivot filter, we could probably use baluda ea on m15,m30,h1 or h4 , firing trades in the direction of the pivot crosses...so when m15 baluda says buy since value is 0.8, but daily pivot is below weekly pivot, we dont take the trade...we take it only if the daily pivot is above the weekly.vice versa for sells.

Joe,

What levels, differences, and timeframes are you using in the EA?

Your suggestion to use a piivot lineup for the lower timeframes make sense. I'll put this one on the 'todo' list. Mind you, this does not mean it is going to be done anytime soon. My focus now is trading those baskets (Up 125 pips already for the day.)
