, but i'am trading live with Cowboy Go Markets and Bully Pepperstone, also on demo Cowboy Go Markets, alpari, pepper,..

those 3 (Cowboy Go Markets, Bully Pepperstone, alpari uk) have the same gmt offset. but not gmt+3 as you said, it's gmt+2. they changed it from gmt+3 to gmt+2 at beginning of november (daylight-saving-change in usa).
Yes... you're correct Snowy, silly me, they did indeed. gmt+2 it is. we're all back to normal..where did the summer go.... ;) . Thanks.

Just to check i've also dl'ed Cowboy IBFX Austalia, and they are running GMT+0.... go figure. but that does off course make a big difference in D1 candles compared to GMT+2.

My point is, I thought i needed ozzie broker (with gmt+11) for GDay and NB10 to get same charts as Steve, but it's more about finding a broker with the same server time then. ;) but why these ozzies use GMT/GMT+2 beats me.

do you want the "official" explanation of those crims? ok, here's the text from the Cowboy Go Markets-email:
To keep consistent with the '5pm New York" internationally recognised end-of-day in Forex markets, we will be moving the Empty4 offset settings on our Cowboy Go Markets Empty4 platform one hour backwards to GMT+2. Your market watch time in Empty4 will now be set at GMT+2.
and (don't laugh) :D :
Dear GO Trader,

We are constantly working to create an enhanced trading environment to better serve the needs of our clients. This coming weekend, we will take steps to make significant enhancements to our Empty4 trading environment. Following upgrades you will benefit from:
....
if you want the same trades as steve or fxozgirl, but your crim, where your live-account is located, uses a different gmt-offset, then just open a demo-account with the same crim as steve and copy the trades to your live-account with a trade copier (http://www.mt4i.com/mt4inews.aspx?id=tradecopier8). it's working well, even partial closes are supported.

I love it. Hey - you guys with GoMarket are clearly regarded as peasants. Cowboy IBFX describe us as 'Their valued clients'.

Re the difference in start time for the new D1 candle (and bearing in mind that I have not read the posts about this here, so I am jumping in at the end of a discussion I have not been a part of) I am not sure how much difference it makes.

It is not often that a trade obediently screams off in the right direction. It is usually several hours, sometimes a few days, before a trade behaves, so taking it a couple of hours later than I do probably doesn't matter.

I am surmising mind; I do not actually know.

The big difference in the different start times is the treatment of D1 candles. FX trading starts at 5pm NY time on Sunday, and ends at 5pm Friday. Empty4 splits D1 candles at 00:00, regardless of when you start. If your crim runs GMT+2 (or GMT+3 when NY is on summer time), then 5pm NY = 00:00 crim time. So you end up with 5 equal-length D1 candles per week.

If your crim uses e.g. GMT+0, then you end up with SIX D1 candles per week: a Sunday candle that only contains a few hours of data, four 24-hour candles, and a Friday candle that is a few hours short.

For something like Gday that uses D1 candles for calculation, the five-equal-candles setup is pretty important. Six-unequal-candles will produce very different results. Might work better, might work worse, but it won't be the same.

Maybe Don might be interested in devising some way of helping us all look at the same thing here, if you ask him nicely?

I have set up Gday mark 2 2 v1e and get contradictory information. The set file has "Trade long" and "Trade Short" set to true and the screen info says "...are set to false" (see attachements). Which is true?

I promise that what I am about to write is light-hearted, 'cos you are one of the proven Good Guys.

OK?

Good. Here goes.

Mike, this is one of those 'It dun't wurk' posts that I am so rude about.

How the hell is anyone here supposed to know what is going on your platform? You think we are mind-readers? Have some sort of magical access to your crapform? I mean, I know I am a PCA here but for crying out loud.........

Scroll down to the Swap filters. Ensure the one that disables trading if the swap is negative is not enabled.

Apart from that, you are on your own unless you can actually provide some actual useful information - like a set file; chart picture; some of Whip's chickens ritually sacrificed to a pagan god.

Gary is absolutely correct. The real problem for Forex is those agencies who do NOT use NY close time as the end of a week - a real 5 day week. GMT+0 agencies split H4 candles up - hence the absurdity of "Sunday candle" being part of a H4 & part of D1.
The "Aussies" are not the only smart ones. FinFX & many other intelligent agencies use GMT +3/+2(DST)
Many Forex groups will only work with NY close synched charts, being THE system that makes sense.
Just Google "NY Close Charts" and see why.
My view is that anyone posting EAs on a forum should set up with NY close (GMT+3/+2) synch charts or the "time" fiasco continues. Some Forums such as Nial Fullers only accept NY close charts

I haven't looked very hard, but I have no idea which (if any) US brokers use proper NY close time. Anybody know?

PFG did. But they had other "issues."

Gary I understand FXDD & FXCM use NY close synch charts. It is not easy when they rarely publish & you have to download and check for yourself. I was annoyed when Axitrade (Aust), my live account, changed from GMT+0 but when I realised the value, was very thankful; no weekend part-candles.
There are some great ideas & people on this forum & having synched charts would be a real blessing to all - not to mention alleviating coders stress!! http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... &f=5&t=917#
Running GDay2 (being an Aussie I have to) on a couple of accounts & doing well, thanks to Shelley & Steve. Still determining why they opened different pairs today - may be a delay in one feed causing stochs to change?
