all the jpy cross pairs are showing sells except usd/jpy. It is a usa bank holiday so I wouldnt consider trading it today. It probably would be dead in movement today. The others look like the e/j. The NZD/JPY and Aud/JPY I wouldnt expect much either since the jpy session is almost done and nzd session is closed. So e/j, g/j, and chf/j are sells.

eur/nzd I placed my sell below the open and last group of support. Notice price rejection at the pivot line.

@McNish and @TBI

Thanks for the spot and the clarificaton - whilst my calculation was right my implementation of it was slightly wrong - thanks again

Note to self: read, then read again (and again if necessary)

@xrismak - apologies for the slightly duff steer, but hopefully everything is clearer now

Paul

@ TIB : With respect to your EN chart on your last post, I see you have adjusted / shifted your Pivots and Open one hour even before the Europe open, which itself is one hour before the London open. So all in all, the shift is 2 hours before the London open. So what you mean by this is that the shifts of Pivots and Open have to be aligned to an hour or half before the respective sessions? If that's the case, then Paul stands correct in his reply to Xrismak, thus -3 and not -4.
BTW, I see the trade EN going the way described by Bob.

@ Paul : What you apologizing for pal. I'm the one who's lost here  . Get me out please.

I remember Bob stating the shifts for each session and the required pairs to be traded in those sessions. Will find the posts and re-read.

I guess that is a choice for euro open but I went with the open of the German banks. Dont know which would be a better choice.

The latest version of DWMPivots supports the setting the pivots at any hour you want through the 'hoursFromGMT' setting. This setting puts midnight/day change for the calculation of the pivots at the hour of your own choice.

The only requirement is a PC with XP or better and automatic time settings.
  • It does not matter in what time zone you are.
  • It does not matter in what time zone your broker is.
  • It does not matter in what time zone your PC is.
  • DWMPivots knows what to do!
If you set hoursFromGMT to 0 your pivots will be at, drumroll please, GMT+0, midnight in London. If you set hoursFromGMT to 1 your pivots will be at GMT+1, midnight in Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Kinshasa. At 2 they will be at GMT+2, midnight in Kiev, Joburg. Etc, etc.

Here are some possible settings:
  • +2 = Sydney Open, -7 = Sydney Close, +1 = one hour before Sydney Open.
  • 0 = Tokyo Open, -9 = Tokyo Close, -1 = one hour before Tokyo Open.
  • -7 = Frankfurt Open, +4 = Frankfurt Close, -6 = one hour before Frankfurt Open.
  • -8 = London Open, +7 = London Close, -7 = one hour before London Open.
  • +11 = New York Open, +2 = New York Close, +10 = one hour before New York Open.
Cheers,

Paul

So if I am getting this correctly, to reset the pivots before every session the above offsets should be placed at the given time.

For instance to reset the pivots an hour before the New York open I would go to the indi and input +10 so the pivots would reset.

Sorry I just want to make sure I am understanding this.

This must be the clearest of all approach. Thank you Paul.
