MrLong,

Thank you very much for the excellent EA. It has been performing very good for me so far.
I had a big losing trade on GBPNZD on July 19th. Please see the screenshot.
On that day there was spike of 80 pips within 3 minutes. Upon that spike, the EA opened a sell trade and turned out to be a loser.
Most of the trade recommendations that I have seen on the Internet recommend trades that usually follows with this clause "if the last bar is NOT a spike....".
Is there anyway we can control the EA to hold back X minutes after a spike, until the market settles?
Naturally, the question arises "what is a spike"? I leave this to th experts, but I would say : Spike is a bar on M1 where the length of the bar is more than 3 times the average length within the last 8 hours.

The spikes happen with high impact news. The GBP is especially notorious for big spikes during its news, usually on a Thursday. Use a news service (e.g. https://www.zulutrade.com/calendar) to see when the high impact news is and pause the EA for that pair or add a news filter in the code that will not trade for a period either side of a news event.

Hi Andy,
I hope you are still monitoring this thread. I'm testing your final version v1.31 with some success. Instead of using the 240 MA on H4 to determine the trend, I would like to try out 60 MA on H4.

Would it be right if I just change the MaPeriod input to 60? If I use 60 MA, would the 240MA stop loss be changed to 60 MA automatically?

Appreciate your help and thank you for your generosity to share this EA.

Blech. Mt4GUI just went to a forced email registration. Very ugly trappy process. The box fires on restart, with no way to exit gracefully or "register later". I no longer wonder how they will monetize.

Maybe I'm just grumpy. But those strongarm tactics piss me off. Asked nicely I'd have registered for something. Force it and I feel like you'll abuse my trust.

Hello kwchau,

Yes just change the period, the bail functions are a waste of time, they close trades that would have been profitable.

What's this Mike?
On the latest forced update, when you restart you will get this dialog box. Where they went sideways was with a modal dialog box. So it forces itself on top, with no close buttons. No option to register later, disable, or anything. Just "I will hijack your screen until you give me your email. Plus I am logging your CID"

I find that rather distasteful. However, if they asked for registration on download, politely, with a policy NOT to spam me and sell my info. I'd likely agree.

Lots of folks may comply, and not think twice. I am rather particular about who gets my info.
