Bob - one other question regarding pairs traded during specific day times. While it would be clear to me to try frankfurt open pivots for EurGbp, Sydney open for AudNzd and Usa open for UsdCad I'm not entirely sure how about all the others.

Or... pairs dont matter, but my time in front of the computer does?

That is not part of the equation. All currencies can move at anytime due to a multitude of factors but generally Asian pairs will move during Asian trading time. Etc. Euro pairs during euro time and any pair during the USA time. First 3 hours USA session is also the last 3 hours of euro session. Dont get to tied to that rule. AUD/JPY could move enough during the Euro session to trade it. It moved 23 pips during that time yesterday which would be a quick scalp trade while over 70 pips during the JPY session. Knowing this helps you set your TP. Obviously during the euro session you may not experience as big of move as during the JPY session. However, if for some reason, people think the aud or jpy are safe currencies to purchase over the euro currencies it could still move some. gbp/jpy yesterday was good for over 100 during the JPY session and over 60 during the euro session. USA was closed for holiday but it also could have traded well during the Euro session. So dont over think that issue.

Finally got all thee profiles set up correctly and cant wait to try it all out today. Still debating which I like more the lower TF charts or high TF charts but might as well give it all a go. Trying to set my own rules and follow them this week.

Stayed out of the markets today due to U.S. holiday and just having family over, lets get some pips tonight.

Here's a sample of a very quick scalp (taken and closed just over 20m ago) ....

Cowboy IBFX Demo - addSundaytoMonday=true, shiftdaychange = true, hoursfromGMT=2
MPTM - BE = true after 20pips, Half close at BE, Jumpstop = true after BE, JSPips = 5

Position opened at 00:00 GMT, +10pips at 00:03 followed by other half closing at +12 within seconds = total +22

(off to bed happy man - hoping that I'm gettng to grips with NNB 10.3 and before the losers give me nightmares)

I love reading commentary on news that affects forex. Snow ............ really .............. Steve tell me the price of the pound is affected by snow??

David Tinsley, UK economist at BNP Paribas, said: "The scary thing is that, as the snow falls in London and widespread disruption beckons, we could yet get a drop in first-quarter GDP as well. We would then be in triple-dip territory, albeit for erratic reasons." With the Met Office forecasting snow in parts of the country well into next week, the economic hit could be serious. "Clearly, the longer that the snow and ice lasts, the greater will be the negative impact on the economy," said Archer.

The snow, bitter cold and harsh easterly winds continued to cause widespread disruption to travel by air, road and rail on Saturday. Further problems are expected as a blanket of snow falls across the country on Sunday morning in London and the south-east and spreading north throughout the day. A search was under way on Saturday night for three people missing in Glen Coe, following an avalanche.

Hmm when should you use the 10MA and when should you use the cross of pivots? i notice that for arrow 1 its the 10ma cross, arrow 2 is cross of pivots

If you set hoursFromGMT to 0 your pivots will be at, drumroll please, GMT+0, midnight in London. If you set hoursFromGMT to 1 your pivots will be at GMT+1, midnight in Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Kinshasa. At 2 they will be at GMT+2, midnight in Kiev, Joburg. Etc, etc.

Here are some possible settings:
  • +2 = Sydney Open, -7 = Sydney Close, +1 = one hour before Sydney Open.

  • -7 = Frankfurt Open, +4 = Frankfurt Close, -6 = one hour before Frankfurt Open.
  • -8 = London Open, +7 = London Close, -7 = one hour before London Open.

For instance Tokyo, an hour before the Tokyo session, would you enter -1 or would it be -8 because they are -9 from GMT.

As it says above, -1.

To prove this, open one of Bob's charts in this thread and look at the pivots. Now, open the same chart in your Empty4 and use the Asian session. (because that's what Bob is looking at.) . Make sure you have the same time frame - I even use the same color candles. Now, compare your pivots to Bobs. They should match up. If they don't, adjust your hoursFromGMT. In my case, I found I had to set it to 0, to match Bob's chart.

I pretty much operate on a Monkey See, Monkey Do kind of approach.

Murphyman, good advice, I've matched my Tokyo session one hour before with Bob's eurjpy screen and its +2 on Cowboy IBFX , but if it works : )

Attached is the rar file that contains the predefined profiles

Included the NB 10.3 indi and Baluda's latest DWMP as well inside the Indicators folder

Make sure you shut down Empty4 before running the following

Extract the files in indicators folder to \experts\indicators
Extract the files in profile folders to \profiles

There are 3 profiles, New York, London and Japan, you can easily switch it via File -> Profiles

All contains a label with the profile name so that you won't get mixed up

A statistically rare day today. EURUSD hit R3, then down to S3 and is now passing above R2 back on its way to R3 again. I bet some serious stops were tripped within the last few hours!
