“If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected .”

Have a good weekend all.

Haha Leon!

You are already there brother. Last remaining step is to make them pay through the kill zone!

If & when you do start flirting with the idea of stacking, shoot me a pm and I will send over some tips to help mitigate the damage and expedite the learning curve early on.

As always, thanks for the kind words. Your charts and thoughts have been quite accurate as well :D .

Most definitely! If it's OK I would also appreciate your stacking advice - so far I haven't ever had the nerve to go beyond 3 [#nocohones]

Hey SWG,

Stacking is as simple as it looks. I don't have any revolutionary way of doing it, just some tips and tricks I picked up along the way. At the moment, I'm only comfortable discussing the topic with a few people simply because I feel most just aren't ready to stack that aggressively. Having a decent win rate isn't enough, you must know the charts well enough to see 2 or 3 moves ahead. Meaning, if you don't have an exceptional understanding of Captain's methodology, it will only lead to exponential losses and a busted account.

3-5 orders is probably a good place to park it if you have a decent win rate with trades that are netting 50 pips.

Good Luck.

Thanks Rambo. Actually there's a very good thread over on DFC where CJ walks through a complete trade cycle with stacked trades using protective stops along the way so I get the general idea.

Awesome. Everyone tends to have their own little idiosyncrasies when it comes to stacking. I normally use a few different techniques that took quite a while for me to calculate but allow for more run. Anyhow, who better to learn from then the master himself! His words are gold, enjoy.

EDIT: He also posted this early on in the thread which gives some insight.
This goes a little deeper on holding positions Gerry....Using GBPJPY as an example, it has an ADR of 176.5. Lets say you determine that GBPJPY has formed a peak high and is beginning a new 3 day cycle, so you take a short position and set your stop loss....

Using ADR of 176.5 x 3, for the 3 day cycle, you have the possibility of this pair moving 529.5 pips on a 3 day drop....There are many options on how to do it, but lets say you have added orders and price is dropping. At the 1st retrace level, you can close your positions and take new ones at the end of the retrace or you can wait for the retrace to end and add orders higher, after the retrace. Bring your SL down to the peak of the retrace. If price drops, you can add orders to the next retrace, close or hold. Move stops down again and begin adding more orders....at some point , you will get a nice reversal signal where you close them all out.

I tend to close my orders at the retrace point, book the profit and add new orders when the retrace is over. Helps to keep my equity rising and margin levels a bit safer.

This is one way of building those positions into a big payday.

Each pair will have it's own ADR to use in computations. Some small, other larger...

This is an example over several days on the higher time frame, but you can use it on the 15M time frame using daily ADR on the same manner. This is based on entry at the LOD or HOD, where you have the full ADR to work with.
