Any market is composed of patterns that repeat themselves. Find one pattern and screen available markets for it. And when You find one then pull the trigger. Scale it up in size. Rinse and repeat. You just need to believe that and to nothing else. Trade from daily, monthly, weekly high or low, do not trade inside. Remember that most breakout fail. You are the only variable in trading and that is why it takes time and experience to be profitable. It could be done quicker but then You should master Your impulses and this is not easy. Each week has a high and a low. Look what patterns present there and train entry, sl and tp. Get out of the screen if entered the market. Otherwise You will do stupid stuff.

The way I mastered it was by reading everything over and over again. 15 years of hard work. Blazej spent around the same amount of time on it, yet our conclusions are different. The knowledge has become a family secret to me. You would have to think a lot to decipher what is in this thread and I am not even sure CJ actually got to the very end of digging it up all. I have my doubt and I am saying it because I have done so.Methett wrote: Sun Aug 03, 2025 5:03 pm Hi, is there anyone here who could explain it to me... I can give you few hints.
- The first few pages are more important than many would believe
- The pattern of accumulation is not an A-K pattern
- Price moves from an area of accumulation to another area of accumulation (there is a trick here you need to figure out)
- Price mapping is a waste of time
- You need a narrative to understand price movements
- TFs do not exist
- Price movements are functional and there are only a few things price can do
- Spend months on the "same but different" pattern to understand what its outcome is
- You can read more about the concepts for free at the linkedin page of "forex education for everyone" or at my website functionaltrader dot com (not an ad as I do not trouble myself with teaching anymore, it is not worth my time and people are too lazy to do their homework)
- If you are able to put everything together and able to think of all the things to create a story while price is moving, then you will be good. You will need your presence a lot. Later on you can do this well while working and extremely well if you can afford to focus on price movements without much disturbance. I had an unexpected issue in my life the past 1 year that knocked me out of balance, but this is how one learns discipline and develops mental strength, differentiation and ultimately understand what is important in life.
Good luck,
R.
PS: For transparency, I add where I am now, with completely imperfect trades over around 4-5 months. I am busy with sorting out some mishaps in my life, do not have time for daytrading. If you triple your account in 4-5 months then within a year you can become a full-time trader, no matter how small you start. Anyone can do this, it is only a matter of thinking it over and doing all the homework. I have done so even with mapping price movements. I said it was a waste of time but the exercise itself was not worthless. Sometimes being on the wrong track still makes you learn a lesson.

Re: The Captains Chest - Naked Trading & Other Stuff
Hi everyone,
I’m doing some research for a mathematical trading model and I’d like to get some input from experienced traders here.
What is the best 0.5:1 R:R strategy you know of that has actually been tested and validated?
To be clear, I mean risking 1 to make 0.5. I know this immediately raises the question of win rate and expectancy, but this is not about arguing that negative R:R is better. I’m specifically studying the mathematical properties of high-win-rate systems with a fixed 0.5:1 R:R.
A few things I’m looking for:
• Ideally, something that has been properly backtested or forward-tested over a meaningful sample
• Preferably tested on futures markets, although I’m open to Forex or other markets as well
• The simpler the strategy, the better
• As little subjectivity as possible — clear rules that can be objectively defined and tested
• I’d appreciate actual statistics if available: win rate, sample size, drawdown, losing streaks, etc.
It doesn’t need to be a complex or sophisticated system. In fact, I’m much more interested in a simple, mechanical setup with solid statistical evidence than in something highly discretionary.
I’m aware that a 0.5:1 R:R requires a high win rate just to maintain positive expectancy, which is exactly what I’m trying to investigate.
So, if you know of a strategy that fits this profile and has been genuinely tested rather than just looking good on a handful of trades, I’d really appreciate hearing about it.
Thanks in advance
