I had a question that Robster and I were discussing that I can't seem to see the reasoning on.

What's the point of running the dftd version. Why would you want to stop trading just because you reached a certain target point? :?

I think it`s good if you are trading lower timeframes and are a intraday trader! So if 20 pips a day are enough for you then you are done for the day! There are alot of guys who compound there money and i think this is a very good way to get that 20 pips a day! We are trading every pair that opens with the trend! We are trading 23 pairs! How big is the change that you won`t reach your 20 pips a day? Most of the days i reach 250+ pips a day with the 4hour system, but because i let them run they often run back to be ore worse! But if you set a target for yourself that your happy with then this is a good extra option for our ea!

Yeah I see what you're saying. Take your 250 before it retraces and then start again tomorrow. Of course you might head straight south first thing in the morning when you start up. It's just for me, if the systems valid (which I think it is :) ) then I like to let it run its course...but maybe I'm just lazy... :P

Rob and i have been working on this, it wasnt working exactly right. Currently it is a percent balance gain or loss. Rob has suggested a pip target instead which i will add when i get some free time soon.

The system makes pips but then they drop away on the retrace, i think i may be best to keep an eye on it and close when your happy. See attached, i have missed out on loads of pips due to retrace, seems to be early on in the day each peak. I guess this is the reason why we test 8-)

How to best capture all those pips is a good problem to have. ;)

Can Reversi algo in some way be used to inform,"when to exit." decision process? Essentially, excursion study?? Sorry if this is out of touch...I've only just skimmed thread...

Thanks for the input Pippo, now there is an idea! Reversi running on H4 charts but using synergy_apb bars instead of normal candles, is that possible hmmmmm :ugeek: I always liked Reversi made a good start but then lost winnings. I'll have a look into this.

One thought i have been having is since the best option is to run on multiple pairs would it be possible to make a multipair trader with built in DFTD features.

I'm always open to suggestions. I currently have 1.8% in equity but was up 2.5%.

Reversi figures to be LESS effective on longer TFs...How will type of candle make a difference?? Reversi works on candle Hs/Ls...

ok, i vaguely remember that thanks for the info. i was running it on M15 charts. But we did start looking at this system on lower timeframes so there maybe something there.

I am thinking Rob's suggestion of s total equity target and stop trading sounds like a plan for now as i would be up nearly 5% if i set it up like that this morning and reset in the afternoon. So many ideas to try :lol:
