Your remark about the swap accumulating during weekends made your whole post invalid and shows you're relatively new to forex. Just watch the swap figures tonight before/ after market open.
And again at 20.00 London time (19.00 GMT, I think). All will be revealed.

Or, if someone can't wait, Google "forex weekend swap".

If you want to hold over the weekend and can hedge, just hedge, wait till Monday and then make your mind up whether to continue your trade or not

Question: Do you guys hold your positions over the weekend and if so, do you re-open them on Sunday if conditions are still the same or wait for new signals?
If trading off daily timeframes, then you would leave them on.

If you are day trading in lower timeframes, then you would pull them off.

The reason is of course, that swap accumulates over the weekend, and if it's negative, will chip away at your profits.

Additionally you will generally notice on a Friday that if price has been moving uni-directionally all week, then if will pull off the high/low and go into consolidation more often than not before the weekend. Look at the majority of weekly candles... there's usually wick at both sides. It's this late Thursday/Friday pull back that creates the wick before the close.

Anyone taking a short off the low of the week, or a long off the high of the week - gets jammed for the weekend. That's amateur-hour trading. Don't do that!

You can sometimes trade these pull backs if the conditions are right. ;)

most brokers add wednesday the missed swap over the weekend, as they use wednesday a three time higher swap, this is independed of whether you had positions open over weekend or not, there will be used the actual on wednesday open positions.
Fridayswap is not higher or lower as any normal swap...
Cheers :)

Really looking forward to start playing with HGI.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction on how to set up Empty4 to automatically place pending orders 20pips apart as per Bob's explanation in the manual??
Is there a script that needs to be downloaded for this?

Thanks in advance!!

Sorry if this has already been mentioned before, but what do I put in the sound parameters for it to make a sound when it alerts on a signal?

Thanks

Just Curious- How would you guys play this one?

1. Let it run until next signal.
2. Move stop up?
3. Take profit and wait for re-entry at next big green upward arrow after potential pullback.

I chose #3 based on the extension from the MA and potential to re-enter. Will see how it plays out.

FWIW (APNM) you did exactly what I would have done. How much further could the market go in a sustained move north? Why bother with some sort of trailing stop that would inevitable get hit for far less than you already have (hehe - now watch the market go a further 300 pips north without even pausing for breath).

The pullback is coming, so why suffer losing all those lurvely pips unless you are a long-term trader with deep pockets building a mahoosive position?

Well done on the trade. Isn't it fantastic when you get one of those?

That's pretty much what I did too. I like the idea of letting it run until the next signal (takes the uncertainty of where to exit out of it, although sometimes the price has to retrace quite a lot before that opposite signal appears) but in this case it was overnight for me so I couldn't watch for it. I set a pending TP at a potential resistance level which was hit, but yes of course the price continued up way beyond that! Not complaining though...nice trade.
