As it happens I have an OOTB v1F already locked and loaded on a GP H4!

Fantastic.

Set up two demos with whatever charts you want. Pretend one of them is a live account and close it down. Run the demo until it tanks badly then run the 'live' version to see if it picks up the reversal of the movements that just cost the demo a lot of pips.

If the 'live' version makes a good profit, banks the pips, close it down, run the other demo until it tanks again, then start up the 'live' version........... Rinse and repeat for a few cycles and see if it makes any difference to the profits.

Now here's something I haven't seen for a while; out of nowhere, a double....

Not a big deal ATM since it's in profit and it's just one trade. Can anyone think of a setting I have, that may have caused this?

For what it's worth- The trade number on the chart ends in "55" but the arrow shows "54" Hmmm...

Which version do you use and with which parameters ?
and which broker do you use ?
Do you leav the EA full automatic or do you close manually and/or put manually some SL ?

Yes I close manually fairly often. I have some personal beliefs that many will think crazy. I think every week is unique and the the Market usually has no real direction until Tuesday around 1400 GMT. So, if I have a big Sunday/Monday odds are 90% I'll close them all and sit out till Tuesday, well after the London or NY open. Late Tuesday thru early Thursday, I'll let it do whatever it wants. Toward the end of the week (thurs onward) I'll close the stagnant trades and chase the stops on the others. I close all on Friday afternoon, unless I see something that I think will benefit from being open over the weekend.

Anytime that I sit down and say WOW...that's a lot of gain! (for me that's 1000-1200 bucks) I'll sit there and watch it...without fail, it starts dropping- Close, Close, Close! On the rare occasions it's still climbing, I'll keep a sharp eye on it. If I have to go to bed (I'm in California and sleep during London) I'll either close or chase the stops. I can think of two times this month that I didn't close when I know I should have; guess what? *poof* I would be well over 12k pips if I followed my own effin rules. WHEN IN DOUBT, CLOSE THEM OUT!

I've recently dropped two pairs that I would have thought should be good performers; GU and GJ. I've added USD/DKK and WTIcrude (oil) both have been good performers so far.

This looks to me like the single most valuable post in this thread by someone who is actually making the bot work for him. I am going to link it in post 1.

Most of the rest of us are just leaving HGB to do its thingy and hoping for the best - for sure I am but not on a live account any more. Most of our demos are getting clobbered.

What you have read in the quoted post is how we should treat an EA and goes back to a part of the Serious Warning that fronts all my threads and gets read as often as do my User Guides.

Nice one Andy. Please keep us in touch with how you are doing now that you have suddenly become a central figure here. No pressure, obviously. :lol:

I experienced this before, but my reason may not be the same as yous. In my case, I accidentally opened two charts of the same pair running HGB.
