Hi Steve, By sending a new set of sell stops, we can hedge more effectively. That is just my opinion but I would wait for the others' opinion too |

Yes Steve I think that is exactly the right solution! I am in the exact situation you describe where having new buy and sell stops would recover losses very quickly, as it is at least the market is retracing to lower DD for now. This was before the update of HGBnG lastnight so I have extra sells that were filled before the market rocketed upwards! I opened a new chart and removed indi and ea and switched to D1 so it could be more clearly seen. |

Another option i could think of is set grid ATR to H4. But havent tested this yet |

Hey Steve, First and foremost thanks you for fixing the freezing issue! I (we) really appreciated it! :hi: I haven't experienced any ill behavior thus far after latest version in the last 24 hrs. (except one of the hedged grid did not close on the opposite signal but I think that's probably because it never reached the required profit value. It trigged all 5 buys and sells and ran south on me like a freight train) Sending fresh grid of sell stops in the scenario described earlier is and excellent idea. The only other option I can think of is to expand the grid dynamically for grids that get hedged to see if it will continue to run and possibly do break even or small profit to cover swap and commission fees. It may work on smaller timeframes with smaller grids but on larger timeframe it will eventually end up in a large DD for long periods of time. Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all had a very productive and profitable week! |

Hehe. You could never have forseen the monster you were unleashing on unsuspecting markets when you contacted me a few weeks ago. |

Hi mates, Just for weekend digestion. This is more math approach from an article I read recently. "...Single Up/Single Down Grids There are several grid configurations that can work in this scenario. The ones I’ve found most useful are the “single up”, and single “down grid”. Single-up grid: This is a trend follower. Trades are opened in the direction of the trend. This configuration works well when an event results in a single, directional movement either upwards or downwards. You can also get away with a move in the opposing direction, provided it doesn’t reach all of your levels opposing the trend. In this setup, the opposing grid levels act as stop losses. So having all your grid levels triggered would effectively cause you to be stopped out. The grid is hedged, and has a fixed downside limit, but an unlimited upside. Single-down grid: This configuration trades against the trend. That is, it buys in a falling market, and sells in a rising market. This setup can work well when volatility is high and whipsaw price action is expected. This grid has a limited upside, but an unlimited downside risk. The two systems are the exact mirror of one another (see Figure 2). Configuration of single-up/down system Figure 2: Opposing grid configurations: Single up, verses single down. The single up system reaches its maximum loss when all trades within the grid execute. When all trades in the single down grid execute, the system reaches its maximum profit potential. In both cases, the profit/loss is locked in once all trades in the grid are open. See Table 1. Grid level Pip offset Single down P/L Single up P/L 3 30 Sell 90 Buy -90 2 20 Sell 80 Buy -80 1 10 Sell 70 Buy -70 -1 -10 Buy -50 Sell 50 -2 -20 Buy -40 Sell 40 -3 -30 Buy -30 Sell 30 Total P/L 120 -120 Copyright © 2016 Forexop.com Table 1: P/L “lock-in” when all trades are open..." Profit/Loss Limits The single up grid, which is hedged by design, has a fixed downside risk. This is set by the number of grid levels used, and the interval between each of those levels. The P/L of the single up grid is: Maximum loss =-(1+L) x L x S Maximum gain = unlimited Where L is the number of grid levels on both sides, and S is the gap in pips between each level. The single down grid, which is the reverse, has: Maximum gain = (1+L) x L x S Maximum loss = unlimited So in the example above, a single up grid with 3 levels above and below the start point, and a gap of 10 pips, has a maximum potential loss of: -4 x3 x 10 = -120 pips (loss) This would be the maximum gain, with the single down grid. What do you think to adjust HGBnG in StopOrders mode following way: 1. Count TP and SL as total for a single pair instead of single trade order 2. Set SL to (1+ GridSize) x GridSize x DistanceBetweenTradesPips as an option 3. Separate TP for orders in HGI direction signal and as % of it in case price moves in other direction 4. New grid setup whenever TP in opposite direction is triggered. This is close to my ideal system I would like life trading when I can not watch the screen and I am willing to pay fair amount of money to make it happen. Enjoy the weekend. Cheers, |

Thanks, but we have already moved beyond this. No need to part with cash either; most things at shf are free at the point of delivery. This one definitely is. |

I was thinking the same thing just the other day. YOU have made this EA into a monster! I never thought it would have this much functionality. Today I made profit because the price moved against HGI sell signal twice...lol ... I don't know another EA that makes profit when the price reverses on it.

Many have come up with the idea of sending buy/sell stop grids on either side of the market. The problem has always been when to close the successful trades. Unless you were trading with a bucket shop, when the market would have moved sideways for years and swap costs would eventually have blown the account. You sort-of provided part of the missing part of the jigsaw by suggesting HGI as the trade trigger. Now we have a proven trading method that makes a shed-load of pips when the market instantly moves in our favour. A member here asked me to code a trading method that involves semafor. This suggested to me the method we now have for closing the profitable side of the hedge in anticipation that the losing side will retrace until we can close at an overall profit. And then the replacing of grids etc. I have already coded the latest idea I had, and will release it in time for market open on Monday. Think about this folks. The stuff I have added comes from me being allowed the time to do so, and to think about the developments in the first place. CE paid me to code the initial EA. You guys keep me going with your coding commissions and gifts so I have time to work on all this stuff. I do not have to spend 9 hours a day digging up roads for a living. You folks keep on paying me one way or another and I keep on having the time to develop the code. That was not a plea; just making the point. |

And thank you so much for all of your hard work Steve. It is much appreciated by everyone here. I think this latest idea will make us all rich! |
