I had the exact same problem. Even deleted all, re-downloaded and tried again on a different platform; no luck. I am aware that others are having problems with the latest Empty4 update to v1065; so I found an older platform that had been sitting on my desktop that was still v1045. You have to set it to "skipupdate" so it stays on v1045. I did that and the bot loaded right up.
In the attached icon properties, change the target to- terminal.exe " /skipupdate (don't omit the space between the " and /.... Now it will work :-)
Well shoot: it's been a while since I've posted here and I can't remember how to attach an image- sorry.

This test was just majors + GJ.

Moving forwards I will look at these pairs first on a Monday to see if any setup i.e. in the outer Sixths with SS colour change showing potential reversal and if not then will consider all pairs to find a setup for the week.

Then load up the EA on one chart and wait for the grid to send once there is a FB trigger in the reversal direction and let BE + JS manage those trades for the week or until profit or SL. Close out profits on Fridays and start again Monday.

The only thing I will add is a seperate trade manager to make the BE, JS and SL ATR based like the grid.

.. Just realized I can use Rene's Multi Symbol controller to limit the trading to just one pair so actually I can just load up on all pairs and see what triggers first. Nice :smile:

TJF, what great results! :party: You are an inspiration!

Testing: 15M, 1H, 4H TF: Filter: SS two TF Higher 21/100, 0.2 threshold.
No hedging, no grid, no sixths, no close on opposite signal. AUDCHF, EURJPY, GBPUSD, GBPJPY
Set TP and SL for each trade (approx 1.0x the ATR of the SS Filter TF). 2nd set of identical trades using double TF and SL. No other trade exit except the SL/TP. No manual intervention.

The four pairs were up a combined 500+ pips on Thursday, only to end the week down 700+ pips by Friday noon (U.S. time). Quite the turnaround in the wrong direction. That's three losing weeks out of four, indicating this would need some additional filter to be successful.

Two tests I will run going forward: Both tests will be on 16 pairs

1) 1H Timeframe, TJF's setting for Grid with Sixths, except I will have No grid, limit to follow 5 FB signals, minimum 10 pips between trades. TJF ran a sixths with no grid in his original testing, and I think it lost money on a very limited two trades, but I thought it was worth a more thorough test.

2) 1H Timeframe, I will use my original test with the Double TP/SL I was using, but will try to manually apply the following filter:
Sell:
Wait for a break of the lower Sixths line on a Sixth's setting of 240 periods, then start the EA in Sell only mode, waiting in effect for the first pullback and then entering a maximum of five sell trades.
Buy:
Same in reverse using the upper Sixths line and entering a max of 5 buy trades.

Manually, if I am around while the EA is running, I will be looking to close buy trades if I see two pink FB signals in a row once it has started trading, and close sell trades if I see two blue FB signals in a row (Hopefully in profit) ;)

I received a question by PM about managing drawdown with this strategy so thought I would share my response here too:

My worst set of trades in the past two months was early April on GBPJPY.. I lost just over 1000pips in one week from SL hits on half a grid but by the end of May now this pair has delivered more than +10,000pips.

1000pips on a 10k account trading 0.01 per pair is about £100 or 1% loss.

Or if that was the only pair being traded on a 1k account then it would be a 10% loss.

Either way that's acceptable if it makes 10 x that loss back within 2 months :smile:

Just remember using a grid will compound both losses and profits so that is why I use a fixed SL but jumping to lock in profits as soon as possible.

Grid range trading based on monthly range (1682 Sixths is just over two months on H1) will always carry the risk of big drawdown when price breaks out above the range but I feel using a grid to scale in compounds the profits faster than the losses as long as the strategy remains more than 50% accurate and since price generally spends way more time ranging than breaking out from a monthly point of view then the odds are on our side with this one as long as you have enough funds to hold out for the winning grids.
