Got ya!
Let's get it started.
:good:
Amazing.
Started less than 24 hours ago, done as Wavegarrick simply explained.
+500 pips
So you just enter the trade when an overall signal is given by the Tdesk? Do you consider Support and resistance like in the manual strategy?

Thank you very much.

No discretion. Not any consideration is taken further.
Just enter when "overall signal" pops up. As simple as that.
Then I wait to exit signal, mine is 70% exit threshold. I'm still waiting for the first exit signal though.
That's it.
No S/R, No peaky, No any other indication. NADA.
Good luck and please upload your TDesk matrix screenshot after your 1st 24 hours of trading this.

Excellent stuff Awesome... You got it

Let us know how you go and you are welcome to give us input as far as exits and so forth go. Another Idea that has crossed my mind is to hedge trades when we get a signal in the opposite direction. Just thinking out loud ;)

Thanks for stepping up.

Cheers
Leon

Hi Awesome!

What do you mean by 70% exit threshold? Can you show a graphical example pls? Thanks a bunch

No graphic but I will explain:
Suppose my entry based on 7 different strategies.
So if 5 of them (70% of 7 is 4.9, 5>4.9) become in the opposite direction - then I should get a signal for Exit.

Hi Awesome,

I dont want to interfere with your splendid results thus far, but if I could share my interpretation of a 70% threshold = Entry Signal is reduced to 70% from 100%, i.e. any 2 signals turn in reverse order and /or flat.

According to your explanation in the above post would that not result in an exit at 70% of a Sell Signal, thereby allowing a greater percentage of your trade profit being given back? Just my thoughts, looking at the current GBPCAD.

Regards

Chris

This is part of what I am doing to manually manage my way out of SPB's massive drawdown. I am lucky in that the original trades are attracting positive swap apart from one pair so:
  • TDesk: triple SS TD D1, H4, H1
  • Leave the trades alone when SS lines up. Some are in mighty DD but SS is showing the right direction. NJ was at c. -$400 at one point and entered positive territory overnight.
  • Hedge when there is a full SS signal in the opposite direction.
    • All three values must be >= 1 (buy hedge) or <= -1 (sell hedge).
    • Close the hedge trade when the H4 and H1 SS values have changed back again with the same minimum values as used to open the hedge.
This has worked well so far. Hedge trade losers have not been massive and I have made some cash out of them. Current DD is half of what it was at its height. Hedging has stopped my margin percent from dropping below 1,000.

None of this is especially relevant here - just giving you some food for hedging thoughts.

You are right.
I was incorrect.

Hi Guys,

Here is my thinking when it comes to closing trades. I have often noticed that we have exceptional runs. We are happy to close all trades at a handsome profit. Only to open a new batch and find that some pairs perform well and some do exceptionally bad and more often than not come back to bite.

The problem is that when we take a new batch of trades it might be at the end of an upmove for some pairs whereas some pairs will continue in the intended direction and more often than not will lead to losses. The problem here for me is that currency pairs desynchronize and become out of touch with trading systems.

My thoughts are to do pruning right from the start and try and catch the ebb and flow of the tide. Hopefully I can grow a healthy tree.

When I get an 'Overall" opposite signal I am closing trades that are in profit.
When I get an 'Overall" opposite signal for trades that are in a loss I am opening a hedge trade.
When I get and "Overall" opposite signal for hedged trades I will open open a trade in the direction of the signal.

I want to see if I can get into the ebb and flow of the market by handling trades individualistically and hopefully can lead to long profitable trades. This of course will not be possible without trade desk. ;)

I have a screenshot of trades below where I have started hedging already and I have 192 pips in closed profitable trades today where I had an opposite signal.

Anyway, ideas are welcome.

Cheers
Leon
