does the following make sense?
"i was wondering if it would be helpful to include a dwmpivot(another superb tool from Paul) filter in the ea, such that if the conditions for a buy are fulfilled, the ea checks if the daily pivot is above the weekly pivot, if so, it then proceeds to fire the trade. vice versa for sells.

with this filter enabled, we could catch the higher probability trades on lower times frames like h4
with the daily/weekly pivot filter, we could probably use baluda ea on m15,m30,h1 or h4 , firing trades in the direction of the pivot crosses...so when m15 baluda says buy since value is 0.8, but daily pivot is below weekly pivot, we dont take the trade...we take it only if the daily pivot is above the weekly.vice versa for sells.

I support You,only one addition-when Daily Pivot crosses Weekly Pivot-stop trade, close this pair in spite of Diff value.

Paul,

for level, i used 0.33 and for difference 0.68 , on daily, which triggered last friday...its up bigtime...about 1800pips..that is about 1200pips for difference n 600pips for level. on lower timeframes, i simply had massive losses on those parameters because the trend just kept chopping n changing as expected. if we use a pivot filter, i believe the losses will be much smaller on lower time frames since we only take trades that are with the trend.

yeah Paul about this " My focus now is trading those baskets (Up 125 pips already for the day.)"
what basket are you referring to? do u mean you are trading the baluda ea on daily chart as a basket trader along with mptm basket management?
do u mind sharing how u go about doing that? there seems to be some merit in that idea.

Joe,

What levels, differences, and timeframes are you using in the EA?

Your suggestion to use a piivot lineup for the lower timeframes make sense. I'll put this one on the 'todo' list. Mind you, this does not mean it is going to be done anytime soon. My focus now is trading those baskets (Up 125 pips already for the day.)

Dear Paul and Steve,

Spot made what I think was a sensible observation few posts ago concerning the Tresholds in the v1d version.

As stated in Post #1, tresholds (v1d) enable the EA to wait for trading currencies until they have been ranging (>-0.3, <0.3 - user configurable).

As I understand it, the original request for this filter was instead to enable the EA to wait trading currency pairs until the CSSDiff between these pairs have been ranging (>-0.3, <0.3 - user configurable).

This would indeed prevent opening trades for currencies pairs that are already trending but loosing/gaining relative strength at the start of the EA.

Please consider if time permits.

Everything you are sharing here with us is never underrated and always greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks zypip - I agree and you said it much better than me. Just one point that might not have been clear from above - the thresholds are perfect for the "trade by levels" they just would make more sense as you have described for "trade by difference" - so the function of the thresholds would depend on the trade method chosen.

And I can only echo your words as they sum up my feelings perfectly:

Hi Winsteadglenn,

If you don't mind me asking, when you say 1H/4H, what do you mean? I thought the present version of Baluda EA only referred to HighTF in the event that a lowTF would be added in the future, which, I thought, it has not.

Are you running the EA on the 1H TF and have the EA set to HTF=4H? if this is the case, I think you are just trading the 4H TF signal......I may be wrong though as I often am

Anyway happy it is making pips for you,

Cheers

Hello, Zypip.

It is OOTB with diff trading on and level trading off.
1 Hour window. Higher TF is changed from 1440 to 240.
Lot size is 1.0 for a Ten K demo account, which is 10% risk. Leverage 100/1 on Hotforex. Now at 21,000 $ equity. The closures are the key, of course. Waiting for that. Intuitively, this EA should be very safe, hence the aggressiveness. I tend to get excited when I see something simple that works. Only 10% of the trades have closed, all in profit. No DD. Amazing.
I had noticed from watching the histograms by Neo that the bars would diminish, but the price would continue in its chosen trajectory until or about the time closure occurs. That is delightful. The 4 hour demos and daily demos have equities of "only" about 80% profit. hahahahha. By noon tomorrow, the forex gods will have bankrupted my demo account, of course.
I see that you are right: I am playing the H4, even though the robot sits on H1.
I have added the MPTM pips closure suggested by Spot.

I didn't have such aggressive lot sizes (0.5 lots/$50k demo) but a combo of trade by level (OOB settings with starting threshold 0.4) and trade by difference with a starting threshold of 0.5 with MPTM global closure when hit 200 pips made just short of 1000 pips today!! This is just sitting on D1 chart - no messing with higher timeframe.

EDIT: Just for those who like pictures I added one. It will be good to see if the thresholds can keep it out of trouble in ranging periods.

Excellent. My only question here is: Is that how you will be trading live too with real money? i.e with start fund $50,000 and lot size 0.5.
