Also, has anyone come up with a skype group for trading the HGI? If so, where can I join?

HGI Live Trading D1 (small risk) observations, Results & Tr

Post by Jonathan2FI »

Hi ,
update from week of 9th to the 14th Feb
D1 Trades on HGI no other indicators just Trend Lines, some Fibs & 000 numbers where they interfere / provide confluence - trading wavy, big tend arrows and rads.
So last week:
- 32 Trades 6 pendings cancelled 26 trades opened 12 winners 14 losers net 279pips account +3.1%
Best Trade 02/11/2015 trade open 8 hours GBPJPY Buy 182.12 183.9 182.805 183.901 pips 109.6

For next week this is what I initially see
EURAUD waiting for Retracement at 1.4615 I may have missed the retracement since on
Friday it had a low of 1.4625 before closing 30 pips higher wait and see !
EURGBP Rad Breakout Short 0.7377 SL 0.7440 TP 0.7308
AUDCAD Rad Breakout short 0.959 SL 0.963 TP 0.944
GBPUSD Open Trade LONG SL OK Move TP to TP 1.645
GBPAUD Rad Retracement LONG Buy lim 1.9710 SL 1.959 tp 2.024
GBPJPY Rad Retracement Long WAIT Price hit 61.8 fib from Dec 5th H to 3 Feb Low
GBPCAD Rad Retracement Long BLM 1.911 SL1.893 TP 1.949

(Note these are not trade recommendations they are what I currently see using HGI and can and likely to change)

.... need to push % win rate higher although in my experience and what I have read the best trend trading
systems are often at around 40% so pretty good for me relatively new to HGI. Still it looks a little like overtrading since it is D1. Very happy with 3% pw +/- 1.5% long term at 0.5% risk per trade.

comments on the above appreciated

For what it's worth, I had a loosy week trading HGI on the D1 timeframe.
Made some pips, but no coins due to pip-value difference.

Better luck next week!

Not really wave to wave, but similar.
SL=100, BE@100 and then let the wave close it again.

Has the use of your 100 SL and 100 BE made a big difference to your results? How did you establish those levels? How long have you been trading HGI on the D1 TF only? Thanks

Hi Gertje,
are you strictly end of day on D1 or do you get the chance to check before London open and make any adjustments or profit taking? ...and to what extent do you use price action and trend lines (or anything else) as a further filter or supporting Entry, SL and TP placement for HGI?

good luck next week.

Zoog,
If I have understood your questions correctly - I now relate it to my trading with HGI....

- As Bob has said the round numbers 000 are one of the most consistent of the support resistance lines and therefore price often stalls at these - I incorporated them into my trading 3 years ago. Like everything else in trading there are no absolutes and if the "crowd" have momentum then they will move right past a 000 number as if it was not there. That is why many HGI traders put a number of trades on at the same time e.g. up to a 000 number take profit and then if passed beyond and to the next.

- As far as 100SL 100 BE look at the size of the daily moves and you will see the necessity for SLs of this order. Note the HGI signals have volatility included so the arrows already incorporate these factors for all TFs.

-HGI D1 trading 4-6 weeks

.....HGI provides very good signals. You do not put your weeks months years of forex experience in the bin after start to use HGI. You incorporate these into your previous years of learning/experience and forex skills. The knack is to include learning that supports and compliments HGI and not for example a range of indicators that add complexity and conflicting signals.

Bob, sorry but who cares? I have tried to read the article about 10 times and lost the will to live every time.

So the guy thinks that liquidity has collapsed? For sure there was not a lot of movement in the markets last week but I still made over 200 pips. Fuck-all in cash terms, but that probably sums up most of us involved here.

Stuff why-trading-currencies-now-most-difficult-lehman. We don't care. It may be a tad hard now or it may not, but that sums up our trading conditions ever since I found this blasted stuff nearly a decade ago. It is not new. The markets are always difficult. If they were not, the world would be populated by quadri-gazillionaires.(Noobs in case of doubt, I did indeed invent that last description; it represents people with a few dollars to spend). They aren't so it isn't. Keep up. Those of you unused to my writing style in these circumstances have just to hang on in there and hope to catch up for the entertainment ride. I seek to amuse. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes not.

Markets go up. Or they go down. Or they go sideways. We all know this. At least, those of us who have been around for a while know this. Bob, why did you quote this guy?

Look at every statement he makes. Every one makes me ask, "Ok, so provide the evidence."

Take this classic from the article:
The problem is that while it is not as expensive to trade as it was after Lehman collapsed, traders now have to contend not only with momentum ignition algos which trade in a very haphazard, utterly irrational way to catch as many traders offside as possible (the exchanges selling the stops data to the highest HFT bidder does not help) , as well as with even more irrational central banks, which one day promise one thing, only to turn around the next day and blow up everyone who believed them.
I would love to say that the individual words make sense yet the overall argument escapes me but I cannot. This is the kind of crap that has occasionally attracted ribaldry in our forum before, when someone was daft enough to post it seriously.

Read the effing manual, ok?

Afterprime is the official SHF broker. Read about them at https://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=175790#p175790.

I still suffer from OCCD. Good thing, really.

Anyone here feeling generous? My paypal account is always in the market for a tiny donation. pianodoodler@hotmail.com is the account.

Thanks for that but my question was actaully for Gertje. I must have used the wrong quote. Told you that I am an IT dinosaur. I asked Gertje because how he is trading seems closest to how I intend to use it. Took my first trades Friday pm and today.

Am still in the progress of finding out.....
D1 takes a looooooot of time to test stuff.

I tried H4, but due to workrelated issues I missed some signals.

I copied these levels from Pipmasher, there it works like a charm on D1.
