Post subject:  How to interpret readings from multiple timeframes?

Hi all,

first of all many thanks to the creators and contributors of HGI.

I only discovered it after i started wondering why the 10.7 and 10.9 threads became quite quiet :?

I've read the manual and now test the indi on several currency pairs.

I look for advice how to interpret readings from multiple timeframes (mtf), especially if they are not agreeing.

For instance i have 3 charts open with different timeframes (D1, H4, H1).

I got a Big Red Arrow down on H4, indicating a Trend Sell.
But on H1 i got a yellow wavy above the same candle, indicating we enter a range.

So the higher timeframe says "trend" down, and the lower timeframe says range.

How do i combine this reading into a trading decision?
Does the higher timeframe weigh more / supersede the lower timeframe reading?

In addition on D1 i have a small red RAD at the bottom of the previous day's candle (today's price is higher than yesterday's low at the time of checking the charts).

Which - if i understand it right - says, downtrend might continue should price break out below.

So if i add the daily info to the mix, perhaps a combined reading would then indicate we are rangebound intraday, from the wavy on top of the H1 to the day's low?

Is there a consistent way to read HGI signals from mtf and "translate" them into trading decisions?

Post subject:  HGI Producing Late Arrows

Hello people. I’ve been reading these forums and I can see great potential combining HGI and hurst with my usual trading style. So I decided to test run HGI system and HGB ea and I need some help with a few things:

1. When I was testing HGI, I noticed that all the big arrows appear late when the move is halfway or almost over. Yesterday I saw an arrow that appeared on the Friday 4hr chart a whole two days late. This issue does not go away when I reload the chart, force download bars or close and reopen meta trader.

2. When I was testing HGB ea, while I was loading it on the charts, it opened and closed many trades instantly and my demo account lost 1.7 % in 30 seconds, just from paying spread! Maybe someone can help me with suitable settings that they use.

3. I’ve been hearing about HGI 16.0 and maybe this will solve my problem of late arrows, but I can’t seem to find the download anywhere. Was it taken down?

a trend arrow can only be drawed if a trend is recognized..this will mostly not be possible at a candle start
HGB questions please ask there ---> http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... =87&t=3979

Hi all,

I've been backtesting the HGI and I need to ask something... I don't know if it is a stupid question but I will take the risk.

Is there any chance to print the past signals as they were in real time? I mean, avoid the repainting. Is imposible to read the TMA value at a certain past candle, the value it had when that past candle was the current candle?

If that can't be done, what should I do to keep the past signals (like "keepHistory" input in the indi) if I'm using the HGI externally (via an EA or another Indicator)??

I hope you can understand me haha

Regards and thanks for your time!

just forget to backtest HGI it wont work, as tma will always repaint, so all "results" will be useless just test it forward..

Thanks for your reply!

I forgot to say something... I've been backtesting via the Strategy Tester. I know it's not 100% accurate but it prints the signals as they were in real time.... no?

Then, I should assume that is impossible to read the "real not-repainted" value of the TMA?
