Hello TraderJoeForex, Sorry for the delay.... trying to digest your posts. I think that you have a great thing here. Not sure if I understod corectly.....if I'm right, I understand that your ultimate goal is to accurately pinpoint the start of the new trend weather will be short or long live with the reads of both OBV_TMATrueslopes and use of the upper TF and acting in conjuction with HGI signals. What is not clear for me is, once you have both OBV_TMATrueslopes in sync, both blue for a buy or both red for a sell after a candle close, you place your pendings and/or maybe one at the market. What happens when few bars latter both become against you? Do you close your positions if not reached the Hurst targets? Secondly, how do you act when 1, 2 or 3 bars latter one of the OBV's turns red but the other is still blue on your buys for instance? Do nothing and wait? Will appreciate your reasoning with this valuable information. Pipstubborn |

Folks, I would like to make a comment about the TMAcentered indicators. Seeing that pips400 created this great MTF Hurst Target indi I have had the chance to do some serious evaluation of my choice of 5 and 11 periods on the TMAcentered. My original evaluation of 5 and 11, I considered the best with the testing that I did. But with the MTF Hurst Target indi. I find that the most accurate target results are obtained with 5 and 10 periods. Now that is exactly what Hurst used. Whatever the fast DMA was, then the slow DMA (Displaced MA) was exactly double. Those have been my findings over Xmas and the New Year. Switching from 11 to 10 periods on the slow TMAcentered will give you slightly more accurate targets. But the difference is only small. So just thought I would let you know these findings of mine. As they say do not sweat the small stuff. Attached is the slightly altered version of MTF Hurst Target I use. It is the version after v1a version with all the latest mods. I just called it v1b. I look forward to seeing new ideas come out in this thread. Thanks everyone. Have a great New Year all. Pedro |

Pedro - thanks for the update and your testing of 5 & 10 vs 5 & 11 crossovers/extensions. Adopting the most accurate combination will surely help squeeze even more pips Pipstubborn - you have understood my way of entering a trade correctly and to answer your question I don't pay attention to the TMA_OBVTrueslope after entering as it's only purpose for me is to guide best timing to get into a position not as ongoing confirmation to stay in the position as there will be fluctuations in the slope and as you say a few bars later the TMA_OBV's may well read opposite to when we entered (but this does not mean the overall direciton of price movement is changing.. it just means the angle of slope is cooling off temporarily. As long as I am trading in the direction of the higher timeframe then I just hold for the current timeframe hurst extensions as TP unless my stop gets taken out. Stop under previous high or low at point of entry and I now move to the bottom of the green triangle to tighten when it's prints on crossover and that's it :hi: (I should add If the higher timeframe is ranging or I am countertrending then I would watch the trade more closely and would exit early the minute price action suggests it may be breaking out or starting to trend sharply against me. In this case the TMA_OBV's might have closed > +-0.5 against the direction I am trading so would not wish to stay in much longer then but price action would be the decider for me rather than the indicator). |

Just to clarify so that credit goes where it is due, I think that the indicator was done by NeoTrader, at the request of Babalu4u, who you seem to be mixing up with Baluda (aka Paul). Call me pedantic. Cheers, Mr Pedantic |

Hi I like the Hurst target indy a lot. What I've found is that if you put the another same indy on the same chart with different parameters one disappears. Is there any way of having two same indicators on one chart so that I can have one with 10, 5 settings and another with say 30, 15 or 40,20 or whatever? Cheers Eamonn. p.s Fearing a New Year bollocking !! |

Hi Eamonn, I was online and coding this morning, so thought I'd update the indicator to be able to have more than one instance at the same time. The update now has an "index" input in the settings, so just specify a different number e.g. 1,2,3 etc, that should be it, although only briefly tested, so any problems let me know. Pips400 |
