Attached is a version of the indi I just introduced in the DFC thread - I developed this to create the code for HGBnD.

The attached version calculates the distance between the high and low then divides this by 6 - there is a user input that allows you to play with this divisor. The dotted yellow lines delineate the top and bottom sixths. The idea is to take HGI buy signals only when the market is below the bottom dotted line, and sell only when the market is above the top dotted line. Hedged grid trades will be placed no further than the peak hilo of the next time frame up.

Drag the indi and then HGI onto a few charts. The display looks very promising.

I am just working out the code for some of the detail. We should have an updated version in time for next week.

Would using sixths (buy bottom sixth and sell top sixth) negate HGBnD also from buying and/or selling based on HGI signals in the space between the top and bottom sixth, if the signal was with the trend ?

• 2922 call the function that draws the trend lines.
• 5096+ is the void DrawTrendLine(string name, datetime time1, double val1, datetime time2, double val2, color col, int width, int style, bool ray) function. Line 5102 does not generate an error.

• HGBnD Experimental 1:
  • espouses the principle of 'buy low, sell high' - often stated but never before explained properly. CJ and DFC does this perfectly:
    • identify the highest high and lowest low on the chart.
      • the market is rising if the lowest low is later than the highest high, so only take buy trades. Only buy from the bottom and do not trade the middle of the chart.
      • the market is falling if the highest high is later than the lowest low, so only take sell trades. Only sell from the top and do not trade the middle of the chart.
  • adopts Bob's Sixths principal that we played with a few years ago:
    • divide the chart into rows of equal sixths:
      • buy only from the bottom sixth and close towards the middle.
      • sell only from the top sixth and close towards the middle.
  • buying low and selling high should be done with the maximum amount of chart space available so:
    • close all windows on the left of your chart - Navigator, Market Watch etc.
    • HGBnD zooms your chart out to its maximum zoom. This will bugger up your display if you have HGI on the chart but you can zoom in again if you want to, as soon as the bot has finished its calculations. She recalculates at the start of every TradingTimeFrame candle and does the zooming out automatically.
    • HGBnD adjusts your right hand margin to its minimum size = 10% of the chart.
  • draws solid yellow lines to mark the highest and lowest prices the market made. She ignores spikes, so switch to line chart if you want to see why the lines are drawn where they are.
  • draws a dotted line to show the size of the sixth at the top and bottom of the chart. Do a time frame change if the lines do not appear, but give it a few seconds first - there can be a lot of calculations to make when loaded up.
  • you can adjust the size of the 'sixths' with the ChartDivisor input. It could turn out that a sixth of the screen is two narrow and that we will need fourths or even thirds. This needs experimenting with.
• HGBnD Experimental 2:
  • the UseSixths input has morphed into UseBuyLowSellHigh
    • the market is rising if the lowest low is later than the highest high, so only take buy trades. Only buy from the bottom and do not trade the middle of the chart.
    • the market is falling if the highest high is later than the lowest low, so only take sell trades. Only sell from the top and do not trade the middle of the chart.
  • controls the zoom etc as does E1 but only draws the solid line - no need for the dotted one.
  • the TradeLong and TradeShort inputs have vanished. These are controlled by the bot now.
