I am stunned by how well George is doing with OOTB. I, too, can see when it is time to quit beating a dead horse. I had the same question about doing another shift for the New York session. It seems that one could have another set file ready to rock about an hour before N.Y. begins. |

I got nowhere with slope and the more I try, the more I wonder, if we could not use the difference of the slope value in line with the direction: delta slope may say more about a trend than an absolute slope value. Why not combine this with cmeade2 RSI-TMA cross which shows the trendturns beautifully? |

cuzgeorge, i saw from ur ava fx demo broker server time is gmt+0 and your balls ea marketopen=8, and that has been working well for you. But my broker server time is gmt+3 and after testing the balls ea with marketopen=8 (default) and everything OOTB last week, I wasn't able to match ur results. I'm now testing two sets with marketopen=5 and marketopen=11 (because of the gmt difference) i have a feeling that in my case, marketopen=5 (instead 11) should be the right setting for london open since my broker server is gmt+3. If anyone knows more about this, please let me know. I have also set risk to 2% and JS to 30. Let's see how next week pan out. |

Hey gman, yes, i read through the posts and read somehwhere that PAulus was sometimes making his line 2 hours before the market and sometimes a lot closer. There did'nt seem to be an explanantion or at least i have'nt run into one yet. My criminal is gmt as you say, and i am at gmt+2. That makes it 10am for me when i notice market movement, this is purely frolm experience and staring at charts. I was happy to just leave the OOTB setting and see what happened. incidently london open is at 9am my local time, so 8 is right for me. Then, with the other demo, where there are 3 different times (8,13, 20) , for 3 different pairs to trade, the line-time seems to make a big difference. Although that account seems to be catching up, it really took a beating in the beginning. I have not closed positions when they were in big profit, because anything near 30pips in Balls' language is big $$$. So there have been pullbacks and thats why i brought my JS to 30 from 50. Thanks for the post and good luck this week. cuzgeorge |

What do you think calculating BleakEven and Jumping Percent of account instead of pips makes much more sense. my thoughts Without using BleakEven and Jumping Possibility 1 - lost 5% Possibility 2 - won 15% If we use BleakEvenTargetPips 10% and 5% BleakEvenTargetProfit Possibility 1 - lost 5% Possibility 2 - won 5% Possibility 3 - won 15% If we use 5% JumpingStopTargetPips Possibility 1 - lost 5% Possibility 2 - won 0% Possibility 3 - won 5% Possibility 4 - won 15% UseCandlesTickTrailingStop and also a good option for this EA |

| Post subject: | start time |
Guys Steve was VERY clear in the PDF in post #1 that the start time must be whatever your local time is when London opens !! This has nothing at all to do with your criminal time so there is no need for GMT offfsets !!! London market opens at 8am UK time so all you need to do is see what time it is in the country that you are in and enter that number. Google " current local time in London" see below what he wrote : "London open time You enter this using the MarketOpenHour input. It is expressed in your own local time. Forget GMT, criminal offsets etc. When you know that London has just opened up, look at the time on your clock and enter the hour you see on it." Hope this helps |

Hi guys check this link out from TIG, http://www.stevehopwoodforex.com/phpBB3 ... 462#p23462 and as requested via PM, here is my set file. Just change the time to suit your london open time, (1 hour before), and the magic, or comment. this one is for usdjpy i'm watching right now. im trading eurusd, usdchf, gbpusd, and usdjpy. My set file is the same as the pics posted earlier. You'll see the rest is exactly OOTB. regards and good luck. cuzgeorge |
